My sister's cat likes to rest in the sink on top of the toilet sometimes because it's cooler in the summer heat. I love this style of toilet because it saves a lot of water. There is a spigot (coming out of Sam's tummy) which provides the water for handwashing and that drains into the toilet tank for the next flush. Greywater recycling, YAY! (By that I mean that the greywater from handwashing is recycled into helping fill the tank for the next flush.)

The belly button festival in Shibukawa, Gunma, Japan comes at the height of steamy summer heat. Loads of fun eating shaved ice and watching half-naked men dance thru the streets.

These guys strapped exercise balls on and would bounce off their stomachs to a handstand then fall over to their backs and bounce up to standing.

This team of novices were obviously so bad they decided to have fun with it. They had on little tutus with swan heads sticking out the front. O_o

Cool live 'doll' display in Ikaho-town. It only lasts about 25' on Saturday and Sunday. The traditional Hina doll display represents the memeber of the old Japanese Imperial court.

This is the third seal found moulting in Victoria this year. Elephant seals do not normally do so this far north. Perhaps one more sign of global warming or habitat destruction/encroachment.

The owner of this dog was a real jerk who saw no reason to keep his dog away. Either he lacked control over his dog (in which case it should not be off-leash) or he was negligently irresponsible about allowing his dog to approach so close.

Next to Inba-numa. You can see it from the Keisei Line train that goes to Narita Airport. Apparently it was reconstructed brick by brick after being imported from Holland. It's a fun sight just because it is so out of place. The cycling path is pleasant. If biking to/from Narita I would highly recommend going this way even if it was slightly longer because you don't have to deal with traffic.
