Auch im Winter werden im Französischen Garten mit farbigen Lichtern Bäume und Sträucher von unten beleuchtet.
Markyate Cell, an Elizabethan mansion (with a longer religious prehistory) in Markyate, Hertfordshire. The house is situated in the midst of a wonderful park. The gates you see in the other images of this series belong to this mansion. Do you like it? It could be yours - it is for sale again.

Auf der Allerinsel ist ein neues Naherholungsgebiet entstanden. Die Abtrennung von dem Erholungsgebiet zum Industriegebiet erolgt durch einen sehr naturnahen Zaun aus langen Holzscheiten. Eine sehr gelungene Lösung wie ich finde.

This used to be the gatekeeper's lodge for Markyate Cell, a 16th century mansion. The property is now in private ownership. Built in Elizabethan style and dating from the first decades of the 19th century, the building is grade II listed. 7Artisans manual lens at F5.6.

From my 2017 archives. Forlorn tiny inmate bedroom cell at Z Ward, where the criminally insane of Adelaide were locked back in 1885. The criteria for being an inmate was having committed a crime and posing a danger to others and/or themselves due to insanity.
I currently work at a non-profit organisation that provides support service to the intellectually disabled. We have come a very long way since the days of Z Ward. Today the Australian National Disability Insurance Scheme promotes individual rights to freedom of expression, self-determination and decision-making, and actively prevents abuse, harm, neglect and violence. This is further enforced by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
This one is for my Greek friends. The killing of the teen, Alex, has served to reveal the decay that started within --the anger that started far beyond that event.
