Here are a couple of my images of the Moon that are stacked to show details in the shadow side of the Moon as well as the lit area. This is a merge of two of my images taken with my Canon 6D and Celestron 9.25 SCT Advanced VX goto mount.

Last night I tried the Orion Nebula with my Celestron 9.25 Advanced VX. This was the first time I tried deep space with the 9.25.
I have never had success with this scope, not from any problems with the scope, but from me struggling to understand what I was doing. Thanks to some people here on this group I took what I learned, and have had pretty good results with the Skywatcher I received for Christmas so I thought I’d give it a try.
I did pick up the 6.3 corrector this week and gave it a try.
I did 40 @ 20 seconds ISO 1600, then 10 at 13 seconds to try to get some core detail, and then 10 more at 5 seconds to get what more I could from the core.
I did take darks and biases, but I am struggling how to properly get them to work in Lynkeos (I have a Mac). So this image is a stack of just my frames
Here’s an image so took tonight of the Moon. I took this with my Celestron 9.25” SCT telescope Advanced VX and Canon 6D body. It was shot at ISO 500 1/40 @ f10. This is a single shot and not stacked.

Here is a composite I just put together to show the progression of last night's amazing total lunar eclipse! We have had some pretty amazing astrological events lately: last year's Total Solar Eclipse, the Northern Lights visible down here in Ohio, naked eye visible comet, planetary alignment and now a total lunar eclipse. What a year!
For the technical specs, these images were taken with my Canon 6D DSLR with varying exposures through my Celestron 9.25 SCT and Advanced VX mount. The Celestron gives my DSLR an equivalent focal length of 2350mm.

Orion is high in the sky these days, which is a good thing for astrophogotraphy as this is probably the most interesting constellation in the sky. The sword of Orion is full of big, beautiful nebulae with a colorful mix of red emission and blue reflection nebula, and some surrounding dark nebula for good measure! This being an unmodified camera (infra-red blocking filter in place) the camera picks up the blue better than the red.
This is 101 minutes of total exposures from 16 stacked shots varying in length from 31 to 1024 seconds, taken at ISO 1600 with an unmodified Canon 50D and 100-400mm lens at 400mm and f/5.6 riding piggyback on the telescope and mount for tracking. Autoguiding was with a Nexstar imager and PHD Guiding software.

Last night I decided to turn my Celestron 9.25" SCT towards the Moon, however I put my Canon 6D on it. This makes the telescope a 2500mm lens (50x zoom). I was shocked at how perfectly the Moon fit in my framing. This is a reduced image for the internet, but this is a full frame shot, there is no cropping involved.
If you are interested, it was shot at 1/200 @ f/10 ISO 250. Single frame (no stacking).
The Moon was in the Waxing Gibbous stage and 96.7% full.
Decided to take the new camera (Canon 7D Mark II) out for a spin with my telescope and take a few pics of the Moon. I'd say it worked . You may remember my previous Moon shots showed the entire Moon, however with the crop factor of this camera it gets me in even tighter so I see more details. I do have a couple ways of getting even closer, but I wanted to try this out tonight to see what my camera could do if I used the telescope like a zoom lens (technically a prime lens). FYI, for my photo geek friends, the telescope has a focal length of 2350mm and with the 1.6x crop sensor, that makes this a 3760mm lens (Equivalent of a 75 power binoculars, or 75x closer than we see with our eyes). So, my exposure was 1/250 @ f/8 ISO 200 at 3760mm.

Orion is the sky's brightest emission nebula at magnitude 3.8, and it is our galaxy's closest star forming region at 1,600 light years away. You can even see it from most cities - it is the middle "star" in the sword. This is probably the most rewarding object to photograph up there - so large, bright and colorful.
I took about a dozen shots at ISO 200 and ISO 800 at prime focus on a Celestron 9.25" tube with a focal reducer, varying the exposure lengths between about 10-360 seconds, and using manual guiding. No dark frames were used. Stacking the varied exposures helps reduce the wide dynamic range.

Rigel is the brightest star in the constellation Orion, and has about 40,000 times the luminosity of the sun. It is passing through some gas clouds that are reflecting the light from Rigel and are very faintly illuminated. The best known of these clouds is to the lower left of Rigel and is called IC 2118 or the Witch Head nebula. It may be a supernova remnant. All of these clouds are reflection nebula and glow mostly soft grey or blue with the light from Rigel, but there also appears to be just a bit of red emission nebula in the mix here and there.
The gory details for those interested: 13 shots on the unmodified Canon 50D were combined for a total of 54 minutes exposure at ISO1600 using the 85mm lens at f/2.8 with the camera riding piggyback. Guiding with a Nextar imager and PHD Guiding software. These nebula were very faint and required quite a bit of stretching in post-processing to bring them out.

The Shrimp That Swims Through Firelight
In the winter hush of the desert night, beneath a sky cold enough to sting the bones, I aimed my optics toward a fragile ember drifting 8,000 light-years away. This is Sharpless 2-188, the Shrimp Nebula — a faint, asymmetric planetary nebula shaped by a dying Sun-like star rushing through the interstellar medium at high velocity. Its curved arc glows in hydrogen emission, like a cosmic shell molded by stellar winds meeting the thin gas of the galactic outskirts.
Captured through my Celestron Nexstar Evo 9.25 with Hyperstar, guided by ZWO eyes and steadied by the EQ-6R Pro, this image is the result of patient hours in the freezing desert, breath turning to frost as photons older than humanity touched my sensor. SH2-188 teaches us that even stars in their final breaths can sculpt beauty — that endings, too, create light. And so I stand under the night, hoping someday NASA may see my work, but for now grateful simply to witness the universe whispering in red and fire.
