I've given my daughter many gifts, but unfortunately I've also given her the gift of migraine headaches. She had to come home early from school today because she had a real diamond-splitter working. Luckily, she was able to sleep it off (which isn't always possible), and with a particularly warm, cozy pillow.
Cold and miserable outdoors today so me and cats stayed in. Whist I got on with the chores, the cats did what they do best.........sleep

K-S2, Tele-Lentar 135 f/2.8. Played with radial filters and the local adjustment brush in LR for the first time.
How neatly a cat sleeps,
sleeps with its paws and its posture,
sleeps with its wicked claws,
and with its unfeeling blood,
sleeps with all the rings-
a series of burnt circles-
which have formed the odd geology
of its sand-colored tail.
I should like to sleep like a cat,
with all the fur of time,
with a tongue rough as flint,
with the dry sex of fire;
and after speaking to no one,
stretch myself over the world,
over roofs and landscapes,
with a passionate desire
to hunt the rats in my dreams.
I have seen how the cat asleep
would undulate, how the night
flowed through it like dark water;
and at times, it was going to fall
or possibly plunge into
the bare deserted snowdrifts.
Sometimes it grew so much in sleep
like a tiger's great-grandfather,
and would leap in the darkness over
rooftops, clouds and volcanoes.
Sleep, sleep cat of the night,
with episcopal ceremony
and your stone-carved moustache.
Take care of all our dreams;
control the obscurity
of our slumbering prowess
with your relentless heart
and the great ruff of your tail.

I couldn't resist taking yet another picture of Flame and Rusty napping in the same positions. This happens so frequently that it's unbelievable! Guess you could call it "litter-mate syndrome", hehe!
This cat (like me) decided to avoid the crowded beach below and take in the beautiful cliff top views at the Praia de Marinha coastline in Portugal.
Lens: Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 85mm f1.9 @ f.4 (if memory serves)
I love using older manual focus lenses both on film and adapted to digital cameras. I love their character and the way render differently to modern lenses.
When Archie decided to curl up like a cinnamon roll for a little Catnap, I seized my chance. The hardest part was deciding between Colour and Black & White. Ultimately, colour won out thanks to the light, the shades in his ginger patters and the splash of pink in his paw pads.
