Plenty of activity in this view of Liverpool's Canning Dock, on the left is Brocklebank, a former motor tug boat now part of the Merseyside Maritime Museum collection, whilst on the right is former London A.E.C. Routemaster bus RML 2418 now owned by Willow Catering converted to a diner. In the background is the former pumphouse, now a bar & restaurant carrying the same name.
One of five motor tugs built by W. J. Yarwood & Sons Ltd, Northwich, between 1962 and 1965 for Alexandra Towing Co. Ltd, Liverpool, BROCKLEBANK was launched in 1964 and completed in February 1965. She was mainly used for ship handling at Liverpool, but had occasional duties at Heysham, Larne and Barrow. In 1989, she was purchased by Merseyside Maritime Museum and manned by experienced mariners on behalf of the Friends of the National Museums Liverpool.
Willow Catering's Street Food Diner is a Park Royal bodied A.E.C. Routemaster registered JJD 418 D and numbered RML2418 in the London Transport fleet and passed to Arriva London when London Buses was privatised in the 1990s and sold on for its current use after Routemaster operation in London ended. It is fitted with a serving hatch on the lower deck to allow take-away service whilst tables are fitted upstairs to allow for the service of afternoon teas. It normally resides here on the quayside between Liverpool's Canning and Albert Docks.
