Happy Caturday, everyone!

Moments after I presented Jane's new bed to her she laid on it like this and didn't move for a few minutes. It looked like she was trying it out in the same sleeping position she and I use when we spoon together in the big bed.

She did throw her big pillow on the floor but the little ones did seem enjoyable to her.

Looking at all of her toys and her name on her bed, she is clearly not spoiled at all. =^)

Cleo's hibernation has officially started. She spends more and more time in the basement whre she has a cat bed near the radiator. Cleo has had that cat bed since she was a kitten many years ago and it has accompanied her during hibernation ever since. :)

Luckily Jeffrey can stay in his new bed from Wooldot.

Cricket is perched on top of the Whiskas cat bed. It is a piece of vintage plastic that was a promotion by the Whiskas cat food company in the 1950's.

To me it is the Fave clicks that really indicate, who my active followers are.

I have always been generous with my own Faves, but things go both ways, so I regularly drop contacts that don't appear to Fave back.

In case I unfollow you, don't get mad - soon as I notice your Fave on my pictures again, I will follow you back. :)

Our young cat brings joy not only to my husband and me, but also to our grandchildren, who sometimes (rarely) visit us. He not only allows them to pet him, but even plays with them! And outside the house, he is very cautious and does not approach people. This also makes me happy: there is less danger of him being stolen!

Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!

Sam got a new cat bed for Christmas. As you can see, Sam was thrilled. Now Lizzi has also discovered the advantages of the new bed, and Sam often gets the short end of the stick. Now I have to find a cozy bed like that for Sam too.

I wish you all a happy and peaceful transition into the new year.

Happy Caturday!!!

Otis and I are looking forward to the days getting longer again. It won't be long now.

As Tessa tries out the new cat bed and sees what the pest is doing to my shot she thinks, "It was only a matter of time".

Buddy is hiding from Lucille

I wish they would make one for humans. :D

Cousin usually looks terrified in photographs. I like this one because it looks like he's reading a crystal ball.

(I tried converting it to black-and-white with my came-with-the-computer photo editor; you can see the results in the next frame.)

Rags in his catbed, while Bastian has taken over Lene's big bed. He is probably dreaming of food...

The iMac cat bed has been a "work in progress" for a while. A few days ago I glued the halves of the shell together with Elmer's glue; it might have lasted a while if I hadn't lifted it by the handle on top. It popped neatly in two again. I'm also going through my fabric to see if I have any good vintage fabric for a cushion.

Elijah in his favorite spot... the hammock. :)

My daughter's cats are soooo entertaining! Here Pippin is trying to get some quiet time, but take a look at the pictures below to see what was happening before this comical ending. :D

Ella (left) and Mel seem to find any excuse to cuddle up together, it's really very sweet.

All the cats love the new bed, but Kaiser loves it the most as at last he has something that is big enough to accommodate him without his excesses spilling over the sides. He was furious to find Milu on it because Milu is small and has lots of places where she fits.

Happy Furry Friday everyone.

Raining today, but the sun will shine tomorrow, so we will be able to put our 'waders' on and get out into the Forest.

Wishing you all a safe and healthy weekend

I like to think of Petrie as Sole's cousin. He belongs to my sister.

Today was a dreary, wet day which was brightened considerably by their visit.

Dear Petrie can't hear anymore and he can't jump very high but his lovely personality hasn't changed one iota.

The fabulous chaise longue that Joy sent us from Canada a year and a half ago, is showing signs of wear and tear from all the scratching the cats do so we decided to splash out on this regal looking bed. A company up in Scotland make them. This was Kaiser testing it out when we had just got it out of the box.

All four cats have tried it out and have given it their seal of approval. Three more photos in the comments below.

I had my follow up hospital appointment this morning and unfortunately, the news was not as good as I had hoped. My diverticular disease has become so bad that my bowel has 'fused' to my bladder which means I have to have most of my bowel taken out. This will mean major surgery. The surgeon said that he couldn't see it happening for a year yet because of the backlog due to Covid so unless I am taken into hospital as an emergency (which has happened in the past) I will have to wait. It was quite a shock but there it is. Onwards and upwards!

Alexander Hamilton will turn one years old this month but he still acts like a kitten in that he plays very hard and then he sleeps like the dead. He is so snuggly when he's sleeping and sleeps so deeply that you can practically pass him from person to person who needs a "snuggle break". As I mentioned yesterday, work has been overwhelmingly busy but employees find the time to come down to the basement where Carnegie Cat Clinic, and Alexander Hamilton, are located for a 60 second mental health break.

Happy Caturday: Chillin'

That's this calico gal's name: Barbra Streisand

:D

It's the first time for a couple of years that Max has used his radiator bed. It must be getting cold!

I love the positive nature of this week's theme for Happy Caturday: Happy cats.

Since being trapped on our premises last November as a 5 month old kitten, Alexander Hamilton has been nothing but happy - and he spreads his happiness to all who encounter him. One of his favorite things to do is to climb on to clean blankets just coming out of the laundry and into clean beds. We had just washed this bed and Alexander found it to be a suitable place to nap.

Work update: I am basically a very lazy person and love staying home but I feel very fortunate that I can still go to work. Our "curbside" service at the vet has worked well in its first week. Yesterday every single appointment slot was filled with everything from routine things like nail trims and vaccines to emergencies and sick pet appointments. Clients have been very appreciative that there is a "work around" to keeping the practice open while also keeping everyone safe.

In the new bed for Christmas.

Natasha got a new bed for Christmas. It's 12 inches across, just the right size, and she seems to like it! This is her "don't point that camera at me" face!
