Lovely to be able to travel a bit even if its only a few hours up the road to the North Coast of Antrim....I have missed the seaside

The Mussenden Temple in Co.Derry. Built as a library, it towers on a cliff-edge over Downhill strand on the north coast of Ireland
Lots of friends asked me to prove that Castlerock beach was covered in snow - here you are........taken from the sand Dunes (what sand!!) and showing a cool Donegal coast in the distance.
FLICKR EXPLORE - July 23,2009 (Thanks everyone for your comments, faves and invites.)
Looking towards the grounds of the beautiful Bishop's Palace near Castlerock, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. There is a railway tunnel running through the cliff at the bottom.
Perched above the cliff is the Mussenden Temple and running through it below is the Belfast/L'Derry railway line.
Castlerock - Northern Ireland
I stood in the water for over an hour, a very wet affair.
The most important is an obsession.
P.S. Welcome back Mari:)
Downhill, Castlerock, Northern Ireland
Perched dramatically on a 120ft cliff top overlooking Benone Beach, high above the Atlantic Ocean stands the famous Mussenden Temple. Constructed in 1785 as part of the Downhill Demense by Frederick Augustus Hervey, Bishop of Derry and Earl of Bristol. The temple was built to serve as a summer library with it’s architecture inspired by the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, near Rome. I can only imagine how amazing it must have been for Bishop Hervey when he sat here almost 250 years ago, relaxing whilst reading his books inside this unique temple library.

Watching the sun setting over the Inishowen peninsula, County Donegal from Castlerock, County Derry.
This photo was taken while we were waiting for the moon to set and the milky way to rise. Believe it or not, the foreground is lit by .... nothing! It was a 20 minutes exposure. The white streak that you see in the frame was from another group of photographers who decided to walk their dog right in the middle of my shot. While I was not too happy then, I must admit it adds a nice flavor to the shot. Well all's well that ends well.
The strange thing about this shot is that this was not a shot I wanted to take or even attempted to take. Being located too far from Castle Rock to light paint it, and having an hour and a half to kill before the milky way came up, I was just trying various settings to capture the foreground. Once back home, it just occured to me that I may as well combine all my shots to get this one :)
Out for a sail around the mouth of the River Foyle. This was as the sun was setting and after a beach fire.
