More eBay stuff! I like the illustrations on magazine and book covers. I am told that this magazine was quite rare.

Home video of the heavyweight championship fight between Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson at the convention center in Las Vegas on July 27, 1963. Also shows Sugar Ray Robinson and Joe Lewis being introduced in the ring. Cassius Clay (Ali) makes brief entrance.

That's my nephew Cam and his wife Michelle, an amazing moment! Cam is a gourmet chef, and had made an excellent meal for Ali, out in Phoenix, AZ.

Muhammad Ali began his boxing career as Cassius Clay. This photo was given to me by Angelo Dundee in Miami in the early 90's when I interviewed him for a magazine article. This was Ali's touring bus. Photo was dated 1960. That is Mr. Dundee near the bus door.

Lately I've been really interested in Muhammad Ali as a cultural figure in his era (in relation to the current political climate I keep thinking of his famous quote: "I Ain't Got No Quarrel With The VietCong...No VietCong Ever Called Me Nigger") so I wanted to get these, plus both covers were Art Directed by the legendary George Lois.

Cassius Clay (a Civil War era abolitionist and ambassador, not the boxer who became Mohammed Ali), lived here.

These gloves were used by Henry Cooper when he fought Muhammed Ali (Cassius Clay). They were loaned by Cooper to my brother-in-law when he was librarian at Wembley to form part of an exhibition on his boxing career. We were allowed to borrow them briefly to wear in the garden for this photograph.

Poster advertising a live simulcast of "The Rumble in the Jungle" at MacArthur Court, University of Oregon on September 24, 1974 (rescheduled for October 30, 1974)

The famous “Rumble in the Jungle” between George Forman and Muhammad Ali was originally set to happen on September 25, 1974 (September 24 in the United States due to the difference in time zones). However, eight days prior, Foreman was cut above his right eye by an accidental elbow thrown by his sparring partner Bill McMurray in a sparring session. Foreman's cut required 11 stitches, and the date of the fight was pushed back five weeks to October 30.
