Sky BOX ・ My room😊
I made my own hidden room using Sky BOX.
Every time, using items,
What kind of image do I take?
I like shopping,
but・・・
My luggage is not organized.😓
This time, new items, items that I bought and slept in my luggage
I tried to decorate my room while looking at the contents of the luggage.
Time passed quickly.
🕗🕐🕒🕓・・・
Hooray! Complete!😁

everyone. Have a good weekend😉
I have photographed this cassette player in the past. Inside is a cassette of my great grandfather telling his life story. He explains how he came over here from Perugia Italy when he was only a young boy at the tender age of 16. He shares his entire inner workings of his life in his own words.
I did not get to know my great grandfather well. He was already well into his late 90's when I was a little girl. I only remember him vaguely in clips like a dream. It is nice to be able to have this relic to bring me closer to the man that time never allowed me know.
Not only is this a treasured item but it has also become a tradition to listen to this cassette around Christmas. It seems fitting to do so around Christmas when the need to feel my loved ones close, even those whom have passed on, is much more heightened.

My Mom moved recently and I found this, cleaning out her house. I just saw on a news story that cassette tapes are making a comeback. I'm not sure why.
For Crazy Tuesday theme "Obsolete"
One of my birthday presents from December was a small film scanner so I have been revisiting old shots I made in high school but never bothered to print as it wasn't required by an assignment or the yearbook (or I was too cheap to pay for paper and the chemicals). So have been finding some fun memories.
Here was our cat, Chester, peering through the chair at the desk dad had built. Magazines, books, and a cassette player (that I would use to make mix tapes with and record songs from the radio). Not quite sure how this look was achieved but it sure seems to be some sort of double exposure.
How technology moves on....the cassette seemed like a great innovation when it was launched onto the market. Can you remember those times when the tape got caught up in the spools on the player (especially if the battery was going flat)?
Jimi Hendrix not obsolete but no longer with us....but his memory and legacy lives on.

My late father bought this Bush Arena Hi-Fi music centre in 1973. At the time, it was a very exciting arrival into our home and a flurry of record purchases followed, ...as and when they could be afforded. The Bush Arena was certainly a much better record player than our previous turntable/radio deck. In terms of records a fair number of 45s were bought, but in terms of albums not that many, but Pink Floyd's, 'Dark side of the Moon' was an early purchase, and we still have it.
Anyway, the Hi-Fi is pictured looking very dusty on my late mother's sideboard in 2009. It had resided in this spot since new, but by 2009 was long disused.
When my mother sadly passed (not long after this photo was taken), I brought the Hi-Fi home with me, however, it no longer worked. The turntable had locked solid, this being due to the grease within the mechanicals drying out and gluing it up. Anyway, the record player was taken apart, cleaned, re-lubricated, and then reassembled. There are several videos on YouTube to show how this is done.
Today, the record player and radio still work, the record player still seeing occasional use. However, the cassette player no longer operates.
Sorry, there is nothing special nor artistic about this photo. Just a plain obsolete item. We still have tapes that were-are special to us!

The image shows a corner of what appears to be a vintage shop or cafe.
The focal point is a dark brown wooden cabinet with glass doors, containing various items such as old records or papers. On top sits a vintage karaoke machine. Above the cabinet, a glass-fronted display case holds a collection of beer bottles. To the right of the cabinet, a small, dark-colored Red Bull mini-fridge rests on a simple wooden stool.
The walls are aged, with visible cracks and imperfections, contributing to an overall vintage or retro aesthetic. Plants are visible, adding a touch of life to the space. A "No Smoking" sign is prominently displayed. The overall mood is dark, moody, and nostalgic, suggesting a feeling of history and perhaps slow, quiet contemplation. The scene suggests a place that blends old and new, with the modern mini-fridge contrasting nicely against the vintage furniture and decor.

Yeah, I've got one! And it's very complete! All 3 tapes are there, as are all 3 records! The headphones are still with it too, even if the plug snapped off (whilst being *glued* in the plughole...). Have to see if I can get this baby to make music again, and have to fix the lid. It's cracked up near the hinges.
