Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera or "The stone quarry", a reference to its unconventional rough-hewn appearance, is a modernist building in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudí and was built between 1906 and 1912. (4/5/2015)

The Casa de Pilatos is a historic house museum. It is a fine example of Mudéjar architecture, a style that combines elements of Islamic and Christian design. The house was originally built in the 15th century and was named after Pontius Pilate, who was believed to have lived there. It has been beautifully preserved. The house is known for its intricate decorations, including tiles, carvings, and frescoes, as well as its beautiful gardens.
Cottonseed cars a plenty.
Union Pacific 3879 and 4073 lead the Casa Grande Hauler through Rillito, as the sun sinks under the horizon the crew will be performing all of their work outside of Tucson under the cover of darkness. This plus the MTUWC made for a good golden hour duo a likely part of the regular afternoon departure pattern for Tucson with either train following the other, or vice versa. The train today was more or less the same, as when I saw it the day before at Toltec, the abundance of Cottonseed car still being the standout in the train among the assorted hoppers and tanks.

This is a renowned building located in the center of Barcelona and is one of Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces. A remodel of a previously built house, it was redesigned in 1904 by Gaudí and has been refurbished several times after that. Like everything Gaudí designed, it is only identifiable as Modernisme or Art Nouveau in the broadest sense. The first floor, in particular, has unusual tracery, irregular oval windows (nicknamed "House of Yawns") and flowing sculpted stone work. There are few straight lines, and much of the façade is decorated with a colorful mosaic made of broken ceramic tiles (trencadís). In 2005 Casa Batlló became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[Extract from Wikipedia]

The Casa Mila was built by the architect Antoni Gaudí from 1906 to 1912 for the Milà family in Barcelona. It is also known as “La Pedrera” because of the external appearance reminiscent of an open-air quarry, with shapes taken from nature. Gaudí did pioneering work with this building, as it represented a break with the patterns of his time.
Llegamos temprano, tras desayunar con unos cazadores. Una señora de casi un siglo se asomó desde la ventana de la casa de enfrente.
- Bueno carallo bueno, agora xa veñen a primeira hora da mañán.
Saqué mi vieja Canon y empezamos a hacer fotos.
- Eso non ten nada que ver! Menuda cousa boa, todo o día 'parriba' e 'pabaixo'
Ya no podía ocultar la risa.
- E logo, non lle gusta?
