気づいたら、月が沈むところだった。慌ててシャッターを切る。もう一度右の低いビルの右側に顔を出してくれるかと期待したが、
月は二度と顔を見せてくれなかった。

Light trails of a car going through the Red Canyon Tunnel at night on Utah State Route 12 in the Red Canyon near Bryce Canyon, Utah
What a beautiful night it was last night, albeit a touch cold when stood around waiting for a car to come one's way, in the middle of Rural Germany, unfortunately the night ended for me at about 2am with a bloody migraine!
Anyway, I believe this was a Super Moon last night and it absolutely shone across and through everything. This area is a rich picking for many genre's, Highway/ Road, Rural, Nature, Leading Lines, Long Exposure, Car trails, Night / Day, Landscape, Etc. Had to walk quite a bit to get to it. basically one end of Storkow to the other, but it was worth it, albeit the annoying Ultra Violet lens flare, however, that said I think it adds to the colour and overall energy of the image.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
I was hoping to capture just the street light but this 4x4 went past me and I figured it look cool enough after all. It would be a great opportunity if another misty night would descend, albeit the weather here is quite dry and generally being Summer, but now I know at least what can be in store when it happens again. I wonder what it is about fog that peaks the human interest?!
Well, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
At midnight the traffic serpentines up the roadway towards the Tunnel at Zion National Park.
Here's the second location of a 42 hour shooting blitz that William McIntosh and I embarked on over the weekend. The plan was to start out in Zion National Park for a shot that we both had on our bucket list and then continue through to Death Valley for some daytime scouting, then over to the Alabama Hills for the sunset and some more nightscape photography.
While in Death Valley I received a call from my climbing partner Tony Eggnozzi, informing me that he was currently in Alabama Hills with about 30 or so other climbers and wanted to know if I would like to join them. We met up with him and the climbing crew and joined them at the campground. It was nice to sleep inside of a Camping Trailer and get 2 hours of actual sleep before setting off to our final location. During the entire trip Bill and I traded off driving duties and grabbed just enough sleep to continue on as to help keep the driver company and awake which is always a good thing. All told I think I slept maybe 5 hours the entire trip but I'll tell you what, when I finally arrived home I hit the bed like a ton of bricks.
I have made several attempts at this shot, and I'm not even sure if attempt is an accurate description. The first attempt was two years ago. I was completely shut out by clouds and never even made the trip up the trail, the second trip it was the weather again, lightning and harsh winds had me concerned about being out on an open ledge, it is very exposed at the overlook so that kept me from another attempt. Thankfully, the weather was much better this time and I grabbed the shot I had envisioned many years ago. If you look at my post from last week called "Tunnel View" You will see a chain link fence at the top of the photo, that is where this shot was captured. Hope you like it!!! :)
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my photos, and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great week ahead my friends!! :)

I was / still am, fascinated by the theory of young and old souls, as so far as asking the question of where souls begin?
Then after much consideration I started to speculate on the consensus of time itself, that is ultimately an accepted human theory / construct, but if the soul is spiritual having a human experience, and be it that spirituality is not governed by time, that events are ultimately linear and perception of thus is ubiquitous, then time itself cannot be the governing factor as to the birth of souls, that the soul in actuality doesn't begin, but simply always was, it is therefore my theory that the young and old soul paradigm is consented upon, by the amount of times one has been human before and thereafter (reincarnation), it is the human experience as transitory as it is, that governs the aging of the soul, but NOT aging in the accepted translation, but merely experience, that when psychical we recall it, via our sense of wisdom and parameters of thinking.
Therefore I can conclude in theory at best (as is the way of most things), that the soul was always there, always has been and always will be, as the everlasting energetic wave form information of purest energetic consciousness that can never end, as a particulate or fractal of an awareness experiencing the universe unto itself within, the unlimited abundance of infinite possibilities.
I trust everyone is well and so as always, thank you!
I shot this from a bridge over the M1 motorway near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The M1 runs from London to Leeds and is largely straight which doesn't make for a very interesting shot, so I chose this location for its perfect vantage point over the curved section you see here. The glow on the horizon is from the city of Leeds in the distance.
I took several shots while I was there but decided to go with this one because I like how the headlights from the oncoming traffic are a nice white light. It seems that all of the vehicles passing during this particular 97 second exposure happened to have modern white LED or xenon lights, even the lorries. In all the other shots, the headlights were a much warmer yellow-white from the more traditional halogen lights.
The trip was tinged with a little sadness though. I didn't find out until after I returned home that, on this same night a little further south of here, a woman jumped to her death from another bridge over the M1 very close to where I live. Makes you think.
a nocturnal river Thames under intense mist when everything turns soft. While I was taking this shot two cars crossed either way which makes for the shore "lines" ;) :)

Fifth instalment of the all about the light series. This is actually the first shot I got of the lightning that day. Was taken right at sunset. This Cell past quiet quick but was also followed by another big ban of lightning, which are the other images from this series. thanks for viewing

_____Lightpainting made in one single exposure_____
"Lightpainting is magiK"
Since air travel is a challenge right now and many people are stuck in airports, I thought it might be good to post a more pleasant photo of an airport. Here’s a long exposure of the holiday lighting at Washington Dulles International Airport. I took it earlier this month.
Of course, Dulles happens to be the main location of one of the best holiday movies of all time… As air traffic controllers might (or maybe not) say: "Stack 'em, pack 'em, and rack 'em." Happy Holidays!
Tech details: to increase the number of light trails, I blended 60s and 120s exposures.
I was almost determined to drive all the way back home until the beautiful view at the top of the McClure Pass stopped me. This shot is a time blend in half-hour from the last light of the Sun til the raise of the Milky Way. Hope you enjoy the fall colors of Colorado!
