Wide angle image looking towards HMS Caroline, the remarkable First World War ship. HMS Caroline is located at Alexandra Dock, Queens Rd, Belfast in the heart of Titanic Quarter.
Taken at Penambol Conservation Park near Mt Gambier.
The Sinkhole or Cenote is formed over many years of water erosion in the limestone bedrock.
Rain water which is slightly acidic seeps into the ground and dissolve the limestone along lines of weakness.
As the limestone continue to dissolve, the horizontal and vertical weakness developed into a cave.
Over time the size of the cave becomes bigger as the weakend limestones collapsed under their own weight.
Eventually the cave enlarged to a point that its roof could not be supported.
The collapsed of this surface material created the geological
feature called a Cenote or Sinkhole.

Caroline Church and Cemetery is a historic Episcopal church and cemetery and also a national historic district at the junction of Dyke and Bates Roads in Setauket, Suffolk County, New York. The church was built in 1729 and is a three-by-four-bay, heavy timber-framed, 42 by 30 foot building sheathed in wood shingles and covered by a gable roof. It features a 42-foot tower surmounted by a 25-foot spire. The complex also includes the parish house, built in 1905, and a barn built in 1893. The cemetery was established in 1734.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Friday gold with Caroline. I made a crappy reflector with a 1x1 ft mirror sticker and stuck it to some foam board. Because the surface had ripples in it it created this dappled light which came out alright on a few of the pics in this series.
To be honest I rushed the time I had with this light. If I wasn't trying to turn off the smoke alarm because I'd used too much haze I was just fussing about trying to get the light to reflect nice. Among many of the mistakes I make taking portraits, rushing is the biggest one. I have an idea in my head and I think I've got to get it done as fast as possible otherwise I'll miss it.

Met up with the Port Jefferson Photography Club at this church and cemetery... we had to use a fixed focal lens, which wasn't that easy...
this is just a part of what I took... what a fun night to be out with people who enjoy the same things!!!
Our Wednesday day out was to see our (Flickr) friend Caroline and her husband. It was so good to see them, their lovely house and garden again.
(Sorry I've been absent from commenting and replying most of this week - friends that know me well guessed I had a migraine and they were right! This was a particularly rotten one with sickness all day Wednesday - they seem to happen about twice a year to this degree, the last one being when I had my first Covid jab - purely a coincidence. I'm not completely out of the woods yet, but a lot better than I was. Will catch up with you all over the next few days.)

37402 was out again with the observation coach Caroline the other day. Looking very smart the pair are seen nearing Milford Junction as they head west early on in their itinerary. This shot nearly didn’t come off as thirty seconds earlier another pair of 37’s hauling the Scarborough Soa Express has passed in the opposite direction.

This is a quite old photo, judging by the style of the dress and the style of the photo itself it would be quite safe to date it to the 1860s.
The name of the photographer is stamped at the bottom of the photo as S. Sörensen. The name is Danish, but it is written in Swedish (in Swedish it is Ö, in Danish you would write Ø), so it is very likely a Swedish photo - the name of the sitter is also Swedish (actually it is such a common name, that even though I have her name, I will never be able to find more information about the sitter - even if you look up Caroline Lundquist today in a Swedish phone-book, you would get 92 hits, and that is without variations of spelling!).
