Caroline Church and Cemetery is a historic Episcopal church and cemetery and also a national historic district at the junction of Dyke and Bates Roads in Setauket, Suffolk County, New York. The church was built in 1729 and is a three-by-four-bay, heavy timber-framed, 42 by 30 foot building sheathed in wood shingles and covered by a gable roof. It features a 42-foot tower surmounted by a 25-foot spire. The complex also includes the parish house, built in 1905, and a barn built in 1893. The cemetery was established in 1734.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Met up with the Port Jefferson Photography Club at this church and cemetery... we had to use a fixed focal lens, which wasn't that easy...

this is just a part of what I took... what a fun night to be out with people who enjoy the same things!!!

Popped down to Carolines Tree on Sunday morning. The sun was up but the clouds were lovely.

HMS Caroline is a decommissioned C-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy that saw combat service in the First World War and served as an administrative centre in the Second World War. Caroline was launched and commissioned in 1914. At the time of her decommissioning in 2011 she was the second-oldest ship in Royal Navy service, after HMS Victory. She served as a static headquarters and training ship for the Royal Naval Reserve, based in Alexandra Dock, Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the later stages of her career. She was converted into a museum ship. From October 2016 she underwent inspection and repairs to her hull at Harland and Wolff and opened to the public on 1st July 2017 at Alexandra Dock in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast.[2]

Caroline was the last remaining British First World War light cruiser in service, and she is the last survivor of the Battle of Jutland still afloat. She is also one of only three surviving Royal Navy warships of the First World War, along with the 1915 Monitor HMS M33 (in Portsmouth dockyard), and the Flower-class sloop HMS President, (formerly HMS Saxifrage) usually moored on the Thames at Blackfriars but as from February 2016, in Number 3 Basin, Chatham.

Our Wednesday day out was to see our (Flickr) friend Caroline and her husband. It was so good to see them, their lovely house and garden again.

(Sorry I've been absent from commenting and replying most of this week - friends that know me well guessed I had a migraine and they were right! This was a particularly rotten one with sickness all day Wednesday - they seem to happen about twice a year to this degree, the last one being when I had my first Covid jab - purely a coincidence. I'm not completely out of the woods yet, but a lot better than I was. Will catch up with you all over the next few days.)
