Our backyard is slowly being populated by all kinds of flowers and plants. It's wonderful to observe, we do urban farming and the grey void from last year is evolving into something very special. This was all newly built last year and we were the first to move in. We're very happy here.

While confined to our apartment, we did the best to stay sane. Lockdown. The worst was not knowing how long it would last.

We went to a bar and had a good time. These are all small production artisanal beers. Very good.

A strange conglomeration of small houses with a bourgeois feel, but tucked next to a bridge, a train station and a rubbish burning power plant.

In Switzerland, when you park your bike in a forbidden zone, huge hands emerge from the ground and drag your bike underground to be melted in magma. Once in a while, an unlucky driver is sucked down with it.

We‘ve been at home, the four of us, for weeks, when I took that picture. I would look out this window daily, and it was always eerie and quiet in the yard with exception of a neighbour or two on their balconies. Tough times. I lost all of my concerts and had to look elsewhere to find some kind of balance in my life.

We hung out all evening and finally laid down on the futon. I love Anna's necklace.

Met with Terry today, I saw him drive by in his SL230 and arranged a spontaneus photo shoot with him. It was great fun driving around in his vintage car, and, like the Leica M3, the car was really advanced for it's time, with synchronised gears and power steering. The Germans in the fifties and sixties were incredible.

Narrowly missed the focus - bummer... but symmetry and keeping the horizon straight with a rangefinder was a challenge by itself. Guess I‘m not multitasking capable.

My walk to work for three months. Then I'm out in the open again, wondering every month, where the money comes from... Exhausting.

Our coffee shop next door has finally reopened. Our world as we know it has permanently changed. But at least we can have some kind of normal and enjoy the odd moment pretending everything was back the way it was.

One of my favourite moments of the day is lying on my back and watching the clouds pass by, favourably under some trees, when the wind gently makes the leaves dance. Yet, "favourite moment" being the opposite of mushotoku, but still...

Imperfection
In the hunt for the best images we normally sort out all accidents and only keep the technically perfect images. Despite the slight blur, I liked the whole image so much, that I decided to keep this photograph.
I enjoy the mood, the location, the flying birds and the old sunken ship. I even enjoy the slight but lovely blur from an unsteady hand. This has become an iconic shot in the Point Reyes area. A different take...
