To tell the truth...I WAS out of the car for this shot..... along the highway, on our way to the city, on Wednesday morning.........but the next shot was taken through the windshield.
If you like cats, I invite you to see my posting, just before this one.....
Captured from a roadside pull off as I watched a Subaru vehicle head off down the Basin Road, leaving the Chisos Mountains. While pretty much all the images I captured that afternoon were looking up towards the peaks and ridges of the Chisos Mountains, here I focused on that vehicle heading out with the national park landscape present in this part of west Texas.
Similar to the one I took previously but this image included a car driving down the road. While I often try to avoid cars and such in image captures of nature, I liked this one as it added to that feel of driving with beautiful colors of leaves all around.
A roadside pulloff on my way south to Belle Fourche where I'd then head west to enjoy some time in Devil Tower National Monument. What drew me into this image was a combination of a few things along this portion of US Route 85. The highway at this point seemed just so straight ahead with only that slight turn far off in the distance. That was balanced with these amazing formations of clouds above me. They were just billowing as part of a front that was moving through that afternoon, but at this point there was just the whites and the blues in the clouds. For the past few days, I'd been angling my camera slightly downward to minimize the overcast skies. Not today! With this view, I raised angled it upward and allowed for more of the image to include the clouds. Yes, there'd be the road ahead, but it was the clouds that were to guide my way as I drove further into South Dakota.
I viewed this from my scooter motorcycle. Cars don’t move then but I do also obviously photography and then it takes off from Bike Path into the woods of the forest. Minimal snow on the ground.
Below a closer view into the forest…
Away from me photo from my scooter monochrome. Good that I made it leave the road and getaway.
There was a death of a deer hit by a car that I viewed and posted here on January 17, 2024.
listening and yearning for the sea, much too far away from me.
Poem By The Sea [Eric Burdon & The Animals]
I took a walk down by the sea
And I listened to her strength
And I saw how tall I was
Realized how small I was
And I wonder...
Why the world should care for me?
I looked up into the swirling sky
Saw the clouds go rushing by
Realized how slow I was
And I saw how low I was
And I wondered....
Why the sun should shine for me?
A roadside stop just outside Mammoth Cave National Park in Brownsville, Kentucky, where I found this one stretch of a country road and was able to stand in the center. In order to minimize time standing like that in the road, I metered to find that mean shutter speed before walking there. I would then only have to focus on composing the image which in my mind was a blend of the farmland and highways next to me with the blue skies and clouds above. The road ahead would then be that leading line to draw the eye into the image.

It doesn't get more Dutch this I think. These are two of the three windmills in a row in Oterleek. Strijkmolen I, K and L. Photo is made from the backseat of a moving car, moving the green in the foreground and keeping the mill sharp.

Last few shots from my trusty (though quirky) Olympus Pen EES-2. I sold it on eBay because I hadn't shot with it in about 10 months (I traded the car they were shot in in June, 2016). I have a little bit of regret for letting this go. Might have to get another one.

After travelling by car from Rotterdam finally close home in Kusadasi (the port and birds-island in a strange way)
"Stop looking in the rear view mirror and start concentrating on the road ahead, because you may be missing all the signs that lead you in the right direction."

I'd just crested over a hilltop and saw the city of Browning and then my eyes were drawn to the mountains of the national park! I was near "heaven" again!
I have been planning on getting downtown & shooting with some friends for a while now & over the weekend we finally did it, and the mild December weather was perfect for it. Oh I'm so thankful that it wasn't like 15 degrees. It was a good night with my photog sistas.

Here's another shot from the road this week while i'm travelling. Enjoying the cinematic style at the moment, as you may have guessed, and working on improving my images.
Comments and critiques always welcomed.

13. My lovelife was very exhausting and I cannot say it was any pleasent, before I came to SL early 2007. There I found my now RL boyfriend, but that was the last thing I was looking for in SL, so it came really suprisingly.
14. I am a chameleon, allways in trasition and transormation, but somehow still the same me. I hate beeing stucked, even I often am. I allways need the feeling that something is happening and that I am free.Freedom is a very very high value for me.
