The birds flying up were a bonus ...
I'd seen this caravan in the field a week or so ago and decided to pop back to photograph it for today's 365 Project ...
I hope nobody lives in it! It's probably used as a food store for animals ...
Day 25 of 365 Project ...
A caravan of tourists riding the 'ship of the desert' in the Western Desert (an area of the Sahara). This is a common scene in the Giza Necropolis area, where the local Egyptian people provide their services of camel rides to the tourists for a unique experience near the ancient Pyramids. This must-do activity gives the riders a chance to travel as the ancient Egyptians did amidst the Ancient Pyramids and the desert landscape.
Took several years for a skilled craft man to build and decorate this wooden Romany Gypsy caravan. Now on it's way to a client in New York. Old habits die hard. Once upon a time I would contribute photo-features just like this one to glossy regional magazines,. Sadly they are no more, but still come across pictures and stories of interest which at least i can keep on file together with a chance to snap a picture or two.
This old horse-drawn caravan lies on a farm in the Wimmera. These were lived in by itinerant workers who moved from farm to farm in search of work, taking their home with them.
Caravan camels rest up in Merzouga before heading across the dunes of the Saraha

From a small and cute caravan parked (somewhat for the long haul) in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, WA. Happy Window Wednesday (HWW)!
As the dawn was breaking I've stopped for a moment to LP this abandoned trailer with the white LED only.
Two windy, cloudy and cold days in my backyard to finally in the last moments of the second afternoon hone into the right setting with the right light. The feeling I got was standing along the Silk Road and watching a heavily loaded caravan pass by.

Caravan designed & built by a Quadra Island high school student and now parked on her parents' yard.
Caravan designed and built by a high school student for her shop project. Well thought through with sink, seating and electricity, let alone the artistic touches incorporating old leaded windows.
This old Wood-built Gypsy Style Caravan was seen at the Steam & Vintage Rally at Driffield in East Yorkshire,
I always find these places eerie in the winter when there are few people about. For the record this is Challaborough

This is a cropped and distorted image from a flyer entitled "Caravan". If I remember correctly it was advertising a circus. Looking at the back of the flyer I see it was in Tackley for quite a days last summer.
