Lemon Reservoir and the Milky Way, Durango Colorado
This is a single image, planned with PhotoPills and processed in Capture One Pro. It is a particularly happy memory for me as my family was able to join in the shoot, since the time was relatively early in the night, around 9:30pm. My youngest son went forward in the dark and temporarily shined a light on the closest tree so I could set hyperfocal distance with the spot.
The American Southwest is in the worst drought it has seen in 1200 years. The effects are easy to observe; this reservoir is at its lowest level ever. On the right is Missionary Ridge; you can see the stands of Aspen that survived the 416 fire in 2018, their yellow leaves standing out in the night. Dark areas of the mountainside were burnt and will not recover for many years.

I went to a forest called "Rude Skov" - yes, the name is weird in English but I assure you that it is not rude ;)
I had all my gear with me but decided only to shoot handheld and to do so in manual mode, so no help from anything but the meter inside the view finder; it was so much fun and actually not that hard. Going manual gave me a sort of peace of mind, knowing how the camera was set and that the shutterspeed or aperture wouldn't change unless I wanted them to. I really encourage you to try manual mode for landscape if you haven't already.
The shots are basically of the same subject around a small lake in the forest but with variations in perspective and composition. Hopefully it's not too boring to look at.
Here's to experimentation! I plan to do a lot more of that in the near future.
Thanks again to Adam and his Landscape Masterclass at First Man Photography - without that I really wouldn't have considered going manual and not even gotten the shot because going through that masterclass has made me rethink how I shoot landscapes. I am still learning; I still struggle when looking for interesting subjects and also the composition. Also, ISO, aperture and shutterspeed is something I still need to incorporate into my workflow for each shot because I tend to forget checking and setting them. Heh.
Une photo que j'avais prise il y a déjà un petit moment, quand le niveau d'eau du lac de Bienne était plus bas qu'en cette saison et laissait plus de pierres apparentes.
J'avais trouvé ces deux pierres côte à côte très curieuses.

DE GROTE OF GEWONE KLAPROOS (Papaver rhoeas) is een eenjarige plant uit de papaverfamilie (Papaveraceae). Deze plant kan tot circa 80 cm hoog worden en bevat een wit melksap. De bloemen zijn groot en scharlakenrood. De bloemen van de bleke klaproos (Papaver dubium) zijn meer oranjeachtig van kleur.
Het blad is borstelig behaard en veerdelig met getande slippen.
De plant bloeit op lange stelen in de bladoksels. De bloeitijd is van juni tot juli. De bloem is rood en heeft een zwarte vlek aan de voet van het kroonblad. De bloemen zijn 7–10 cm in doorsnede. Er zijn veel meeldraden die een donkerpaarse helmknop hebben. De grote klaproos heeft een schijfvormige stempel met zeven tot twaalf stralen. De bloemblaadjes bevatten een stof die vergelijkbaar is met opium.
De vrucht is een omgekeerd eivormige doosvrucht, die 1–2 cm lang kan worden. De vrucht heeft een deksel, waaronder uit de porierand de zaadjes worden verspreid.

De malachietvlinder (Siproeta stelenes) is een vlinder uit de familie Nymphalidae. Malachiet is een groen mineraal.
De vleugels zijn zwart met felgroene vlekken aan de bovenzijde, en roodbruin met olijfgroene vlekken aan de onderzijde. De spanwijdte is 8 tot 10 centimeter.
De rupsen zijn zwart met rode vlekken, en dragen hoorntjes op de kop en stekels over de rest van hun lichaam.
De volwassen vlinders eten nectar en rottend fruit. Zij bezoeken daarom graag boomgaarden met mango, citrusvruchten en avocado. Ook drinken ze sappen uit mest en dode dieren.

Burano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy after sunset

I am super happy with the shot that I took of the fishing village of Burano, approximately 40 minutes by water bus (vaporetto) from Venice’s Fondamente Nuove.
The village is extremely busy during the day with tourists and photographers, but turns almost into a ghost town after dark.
I need to admit that I didn’t have a permit to fly over the village as I could not work out if one was required. But as I felt alone on the streets during the blue hour I did not think that I could do any harm. Moreover I strictly abided by the maximum allowable flight altitude of 70m that I could find mentioned in some UAV homepages and only flew straight up in the air and paid attention to not fly over houses. The result was this colourful image.

Cela faisait déjà plusieurs fois que je m'étais dit de m'arrêter pour prendre cette roche en photo et ce jour-là, la lumière et le contraste étaient si époustouflants que je ne pouvais pas passer à côté de cette prise de vue.
