Each spring the cherry blossoms provide beautiful color to the Utah State Capitol grounds.
I posted a similar view before, but this one I like with the steps leading up to the building.
This was taken from one end of a long fountain. There were small ripples on the water surface, and combined with the long exposure, the reflections of the lights were stretched out.
Capitol building, Washington DC.
This is an HDR merge of a few shots taken from the Washington Monument on Easter morning. In spite of the complete dysfunction inside the structure, it's still quite majestic. I'm hoping for a change in leadership in 2018.
The streets of Washington overflowed with celebrations last night and warm and happy winds of change are blowing in Washington today! At the base of Capitol Hill lies the U.S. Botanical Garden's Bartholdi Park, which has become a demonstration garden, complete with some varieties of peppers (ornamental and others) as well as many kinds of flowers for home planting.

Wisconsin State Capitol building, Madison. It is a phenomenal building, with so much incredible stone work and beautiful features. It’s impossible not to be impressed.

As easy as my previous contribution was, so tedious is this one. I had more or less this blue hour image of this iconic spot in my mind at the start of my project. For those who know this spot it is obvious why it is difficult to shoot it like this. For those that don't know it: It is one of the busiest spots in Madrid. Lots of pedestrians that go by, or worst:stand still for a selfie. And my aim was not too many people in the image. On the left (just outside the frame) there is a hoge LED-screen throwing all kinds of (ugly) colors on the Capitol-building, The Schweppes-add on top is a rotating square, filling and emptying it's content (and I wanted it complete in my image). On my right (just outside of the frame) is a crossing with traffic-lights (so pedestrians are queuing (in my frame) and finally I wanted the light-trails from the passing cars included.
The challenge in Madrid was to take as much footage as I could so later I could use the different required parts for my final image. I've been taking quite a lot of long exposures for almost an hour. Most of them were useless. At home I combined bits and pieces of the usable ones, so that everything matched my criteria and I finally I reached this end-result. So here it is and you can .....

This gateway leads into the Capitol Gorge area of Capitol Reef National Park.
As we viewed sheer cliffs in many places on this trip, like the cliff on the left, we wondered what massive force(s) would make an almost perfectly flat slab of vertical rock loosen itself and fall. Just one of the many things that come to mind when beholding such natural marvels.
The term reef in this context had puzzled me because I normally thought of a reef in an aquatic setting. Wikipedia, however, comes to the rescue. In a dry land setting, “… reef refers to any rocky barrier to land travel, just as ocean reefs are barriers to sea travel.”

The red cliffs of Capitol Reef tower above the well maintained homestead in Fruita, Utah. Once one of the most isolated communities in the U.S., Fruita (formerly known as "Junction") is now HQ for the National Park Service, who maintain fruit orchards and a few of the old buildings. The campground is one of the most scenic in the NPS system, just a stones throw behind this scene. The park is a great example of how human impact on the landscape is nicely blended in with the surroundings, with "historical" orchards adjacent to 1500+ year old petroglyph panels, just below the cliffs of the reef.

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July. This is the Capitol of Texas because I don't have a picture of the White House. The Capitol of Texas building is larger than the White House anyways..But you knew that..lol.

The old Capitol Theatre has just reopened, after a billion-dollar facelift. Along with a retail mall, the development will also include residences and a hotel.
Capitol Theatre, later known as Capitol Cinema, located at the junction of Stamford Road and North Bridge Road, is of neo-classical architecture. It was completed in 1930 and served as a theatre until the 1940s when the Shaw Organisation turned it into a cinema.
