The Rideau (pronounce "Rido") Canal in the heart of the city of Ottawa, the Capital of Canada.

Le nouveau bâtiment de la Bibliothèque royale du Danemark, contigu au premier, conçu par les architectes Schmidt Hammer Lassen, ouvre en 1999. On l'appelle couramment « le diamant noir » (Den sorte diamant), en raison des dalles de marbre noir et du verre fumé qui en forme l'enveloppe extérieure.
One last look at the magnificent Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, as seen from Piazza Venezia, in the heart of Rome, Italy.
Built in the early 1900s, to commemorate the first king of a unified Italy, the monument is constructed in neoclassical style, inspired by the colonnades of ancient Greek and Roman architecture, and mimicking the pomp of Berlin's Brandenburg gate or London's Admiralty Arch. The statue of the king ahorse is central to the piece, with the angels of Unity and Liberty driving chariots above, and Dea Roma below, ensconced in gold and flanked by the Allegories of Work and Patriotism. Behind the king, each column represents a major Italian city.
The monument houses numerous artefacts from Italy's history, including the tomb of the unknown soldier. The latter stages of completion were under Mussolini's regime, and after the second world war numerous fascist symbols were removed from the structure.
This was part of my flags project, where I attempt to evoke or explore the flag and identity of a nation I am visiting through a particular image.

Tour et Taxis est un ancien et vaste site industriel bruxellois. Composé d'entrepôts et des bureaux entourant une gare abritée sous une vaste halle, le site a été désaffecté puis partiellement restauré pour accueillir des entreprises et de grandes manifestations culturelles. Il est situé le long du canal de Bruxelles, à quelques minutes à peine du centre de la capitale, sur le territoire de la commune de Bruxelles-Ville, et comporte plusieurs grands bâtiments et entrepôts faits de briques, de verre et de fer forgé. Le lieu propose notamment au Salon du livre, à la Foire des Antiquaires Brafa, au Brussels Design Market et au Festival Couleur Café tous les espaces nécessaires pour des extensions.
Tour & Taxis is a former Brussels and vast industrial site. Consisting of warehouses and offices around a sheltered station in a vast hall, the site was abandoned and partially restored to welcome companies and major cultural events. It is located along the Brussels canal, a few minutes from the center of the capital, in the territory of the municipality of Brussels City, and has several large buildings and warehouses made of brick, glass and wrought iron. The place offers including the Book Fair, the Fair Brafa Antiquaires, the Brussels Design Market and Festival Couleur Café all necessary space for extensions.
The 2nd Annual Linked against Leukemia Gala held May 7th, 2008 at Capitale in New York City, benefitted DKMS Americas, the world's largest marrow donor center with 1.7 million donors. The event was hosted by Mario Cantone and attended by various celebrities and NYC socialites including Eva Mendes, Morgan Fairchild, Carol Alt, Astrid Munoz, Amy Ryan, Carmindy, Astrid Munoz, Lauren Davis, AJ Calloway. Designers Derek Lam and Francisco Costa. Cindy Crawford and Emanuel Chirico were honored at the event with the Mechtild Harf award. Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Sarah Connor and Natasha Bedingfield all performed at the event.
The night's theme was the "Moment of the Match," where 6 year old Kenzie Grant met her marrow donor two years after receiving her life saving transplant from Magda Boysen.
Per le ultime ore di sole mi sposto all’altro lato della capitale slovacca. La stazione di Vinohrady si trova sul congiungimento di due principali linee del Paese, che da qui proseguono simultaneamente verso la stazione centrale di Bratislava. Alle 18:00 transita l’EC 272 Metropolitan. Sotto questo nome vengono collegate a cadenza bioraria Budapest, Bratislava e Praga, di regola con materiale rotabile ČD. Al traino vi è una fiammante locomotiva locata da RS Lease e in servizio da pochi mesi con pubblicità “RunCzech!”.
Für die letzten Sonnenstunden gehe ich auf die andere Seite der slowakischen Hauptstadt. Der Bahnhof Vinohrady liegt an der Einmündung zweier Hauptstrecken, die von hier aus zum Hauptbahnhof von Bratislava führen. Der Zug EC 272 Metropolitan fährt um 18:00 Uhr durch. Unter diesem Namen werden Budapest, Bratislava und Prag im Zweistundentakt miteinander verbunden, wobei Fahrzeuge der ČD eingesetzt werden. Als Zuglok zeigt sich eine strahlende Lokomotive, die von RS Lease geleast wurde und erst seit wenigen Monaten mit der Werbung "RunCzech!" in Betrieb war.
Imaginez des cellules sans fenêtres, un froid glacial insupportable, ainsi que des conditions de détention particulièrement éprouvantes… Telle est la prison de Kilmainham Gaol, l’une des plus terribles prisons qu’ait jamais connu l’Europe au cours des derniers siècles. Et pour cause ! Kilmainham Gaol a accueillit entre ses murs des prisonniers de tout bord, inconnus, comme hauts personnages historiques qui ont façonnés l’Histoire Irlandaise.

Parma Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2020
Parma es una ciudad italiana, capital de la provincia de Parma, dentro de la región de Emilia-Romaña. Antigua capital del histórico Ducado de Parma, cuenta con una notoria arquitectura medieval y bellos bosques que rodean la ciudad. El monumento más importante quizá sea la catedral (o Duomo) de estilo románico, en cuya cúpula se encuentra un famoso fresco sobre la Asunción de la Virgen pintado por Correggio. Junto a la catedral se sitúa el baptisterio, obra maestra del arquitecto y escultor Benedetto Antelami. La ciudad alberga, entre otros, el teatro de ópera Teatro Regio y el pequeño Teatro Farnesio, completamente en madera. Es también conocida por su industria agroalimentaria. Dos grandes empresas alimentarias de esta ciudad son Parmalat y Barilla.
Entre las especialidades gastronómicas de la ciudad se encuentran el queso parmesano o parmigiano reggiano (que comparte con Reggio Emilia) y el jamón de Parma.
Città di Parma is a city in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna known for its architecture, music, art, prosciutto (ham), cheese and surrounding countryside. With a population of 198,292 inhabitants, Parma is the second most populous city in Emilia-Romagna after Bologna, the region's capital. The city is home to the University of Parma, one of the oldest universities in the world. Parma is divided into two parts by the stream of the same name. The district on the west side of the river is Oltretorrente, meaning The other side of the stream. Parma's Etruscan name was adapted by Romans to describe the round shield called Parma.
Parma is famous for its food and rich gastronomical tradition: two of its specialties are Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (also produced in Reggio Emilia) and Prosciutto di Parma ("Parma ham"), both given Protected designation of origin status. Parma also claims several stuffed pasta dishes, such as tortelli d'erbetta and anolini in brodo.
In 2004, Parma was appointed the seat of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and was appointed to the Creative Cities Network as UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Parma also has two food multinationals, Barilla and Parmalat, and a medium-large food tourism sector, represented by Parma Golosa and Food Valley companies.

The capital of Suriname is Paramaribo, a City with a rich history of colonial times. The country suffered a lot of influence from the English and later the Dutch. The official language is still Dutch and here we drive on the left side of the street. Sranantongo is a dialect widely spoken too besides English.
There were a lot of houses all built with noble wood since the country is part of the Amazon world and has plenty of flora and fauna to live with. I am here choosing to picture some old houses that are either for sale or abandoned or have been recuperated and people are living inside of them. It is a worthwhile journey to get to know some of these typical wooden houses of Paramaribo. I find them very charming.
De hoofdstad van Suriname is Paramaribo, een stad met een rijke koloniale geschiedenis. Het land had veel invloed van de Engelsen en later de Nederlanders. De voertaal is nog steeds Nederlands en hier rijden we aan de linkerkant van de straat. Sranantongo is een dialect dat naast Engels ook veel wordt gesproken.
Er waren veel van de huizen allemaal gebouwd met nobel hout, aangezien het land deel uitmaakt van de Amazone-wereld en veel flora en fauna heeft om mee te leven. Ik kies er hier voor om me een paar oude huizen voor te stellen die ofwel te koop staan, ofwel verlaten zijn of gerecupereerd zijn en er mensen in wonen. Het is de moeite waard om enkele van deze typische houten huizen van Paramaribo te leren kennen. Ik vind ze erg charmant.
A capital do Suriname é Paramaribo, uma cidade com uma rica história da época colonial. O país sofreu muita influência dos ingleses e depois dos holandeses. A língua oficial ainda é o holandês e aqui conduzimos do lado esquerdo da rua. Sranantongo é um dialeto amplamente falado além do inglês.
Muitas das casas eram construídas com madeiras nobres já que o país faz parte do mundo amazônico e tem muita flora e fauna para conviver. Estou aqui fotograaf do algumas casas antigas que estão à venda, ou abandonadas ou foram recuperadas e que há pessoas morando dentro delas. Vale a pena conhecer algumas dessas típicas casas de madeira de Paramaribo. Eu as acho muito charmosas.

El idioma oficial sigue siendo el holandés y aquí conducimos por el lado izquierdo de la calle. Sranantongo es un dialecto muy hablado además del inglés.
Había muchas casas todas construidas con madera noble ya que el país es parte del mundo amazónico y tiene mucha flora y fauna para user. Estoy aquí eligiendo Fotografo are algunas casas antiguas que están a la venta, o abandonadas o han sido recuperadas y la gente está viviendo dentro de ellas. Vale la pena el viaje para conocer algunas de estas típicas casas de madera de Paramaribo. Los encuentro muy encantadoras y charming.

La langue officielle est toujours le néerlandais et ici nous roulons sur le côté gauche de la rue. Le sranantongo est un dialecte largement parlé en plus de l'anglais.
Il y avait beaucoup de maisons toutes construites avec du bois noble car le pays fait partie du monde amazonien et regorge de faune et de flore. Je choisis ici d'imaginer quelques vieilles maisons qui sont soit à vendre, soit abandonnées ou qui ont été récupérées et des gens y vivent. Cela vaut la peine de découvrir certaines de ces maisons en bois typiques de Paramaribo. Je les trouve très charmants.

La lingua ufficiale è ancora l'olandese e qui guidiamo sul lato sinistro della strada. Lo sranantongo è un dialetto anche molto parlato oltre all'inglese.
C'erano molte case tutte costruite con legno nobile poiché il paese fa parte del mondo amazzonico e ha molta flora e fauna con cui convivere. Sto qui scegliendo di immaginare alcune vecchie case che sono in vendita, o abbandonate o sono state recuperate e le persone ci vivono. Vale la pena fare un viaggio per conoscere alcune di queste tipiche case in legno di Paramaribo. Li trovo molto affascinanti.
Die Hauptstadt von Suriname ist Paramaribo, eine Stadt mit einer reichen Geschichte der Kolonialzeit. Das Land litt unter großem Einfluss der Engländer und später der Niederländer. Die offizielle Sprache ist immer noch Niederländisch und hier fahren wir auf der linken Straßenseite. Sranantongo ist neben Englisch ein weit verbreiteter Dialekt.
Es gab viele Häuser, die alle aus edlem Holz gebaut wurden, da das Land Teil der amazonischen Welt ist und viel Flora und Fauna zum Leben hat. Ich bin hier, um mir einige alte Häuser vorzustellen, die entweder zum Verkauf stehen oder verlassen sind oder wiederhergestellt wurden und in denen Menschen leben. Es ist eine Reise wert, einige dieser typischen Holzhäuser von Paramaribo kennenzulernen. Ich finde sie sehr charmant.
عاصمة سورينام هي باراماريبو ، وهي مدينة ذات تاريخ غني من العصور الاستعمارية. عانت البلاد من نفوذ الإنجليز ثم الهولنديين لاحقًا. اللغة الرسمية لا تزال هولندية وهنا نقود السيارة في الجانب الأيسر من الشارع. Sranantongo هي لهجة منتشرة على نطاق واسع إلى جانب اللغة الإنجليزية.
كان هناك الكثير من المنازل التي بنيت جميعها بالخشب النبيل لأن البلاد جزء من عالم الأمازون ولديها الكثير من النباتات والحيوانات لتعيش معها. أنا هنا أختار أن أتخيل بعض المنازل القديمة التي هي إما معروضة للبيع أو مهجورة أو تم إصلاحها ويعيش الناس بداخلها. إنها رحلة تستحق التعرف على بعض هذه المنازل الخشبية النموذجية في باراماريبو. أجدهم ساحرين للغاية.
