Possibly one of the ugliest views in central Stockholm? Not the usual view over the City Hall huh! I loved the great light and air after the rainfall though.

The United States Capitol, often called the Capitol Building, is the home of the United States Congress, and the seat of the legislative branch of the U.S. federal government. It sits atop Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Though not at the geographic center of the Federal District, the Capitol forms the origin point for the District's street-numbering system and the District's four quadrants.

The original building was completed in 1800 and was subsequently expanded, particularly with the addition of the massive dome, and expanded chambers for the bicameral legislature, the House of Representatives in the south wing and the Senate in the north wing. Like the principal buildings of the executive and judicial branches, the Capitol is built in a distinctive neoclassical style and has a white exterior. Both its east and west elevations are formally referred to as fronts, though only the east front was intended for the reception of visitors and dignitaries.

First shot of the morning while getting ready to check out the cherry blossom at the Tidal Basin. Turned out to be one of my favorites. The resolution and color reproduction of the A7RII continue to bloe me away.

Parliament’s West Block reflected in the windows of the CD Howe building. The green grass and glass partition are a feature of an outdoor seating area with raised stone bleachers which surrounds an open courtyard / square - a popular spot for workers, residents and visitors to enjoy an outdoor picnic lunch during the summer work weeks.

“The C.D. Howe Building (French: Édifice C.D.-Howe) is an office tower in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that is the home of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, the Office of the Auditor General and other smaller tenants. It was built by Olympia and York. The federal government sold the land to O&Y for a dollar and signed an agreement to lease the final building for a set rate until 2012. The eleven-story building was opened in 1978. It was named after C. D. Howe, a noted federal minister in the 1930s”

Thank you once again to all the volunteers that made this excursion possible. Many thanks as well to: the Bennett Levin family, U.S. Marine Corps, Dunkin', SEFCU, and Amtrak (who loaned the excursion two baggage cars.) #teamwork

Well, I am still shooting more portraits recently than cityscapes, landscape and archtiecture. But I am in Berlin at the moment and I brought my tripod and camera as I always did, when travelling. So I took this shot (and some more coming up) from the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus in Berlin, which is located right behind the Reichstag-Building, where the German Congress meets. It is used for political meetings and more. It also has an symbolical act. It connects western and eastern Berlin above the Spree River which besides the Berlin Wall devided Berlin until 1989. Just three days ago Germany celebrated its 25th anniversary of the reunion.

Have a great day, folks.
