Framing the Frame

Why I took this picture or shared it:

I thought it would be interesting to take a picture of the frame with the landscape rather than framing it through the frame. Interesting or not that was the idea.

Gear used:

Fujifilm X00T with 23 mm fixed lens

The rationale behind the settings:

ISO 200 must have been starting point: the scenery being sunny, I could easily go to native sensitivity for the best image quality. Aperture f11 and shutter speed 1/680, I must have considered as acceptable values. Exposure compensation was set to -0.33.

Film simulation used was VELVIA, photometry PATTERN, Sharpness value HARD, white balance AUTO, color: HIGH. Although, VELVIA sometimes tends to oversaturate the greens, in this case, despite my setting the color value to “high” the rendition of greens appeared to me as pleasing. By the way, I am able to recover these additional setting values, using EXIF app for MAC.

File utilized in preparing the photograph:

JPEG out-of-camera

Adjustments during post-processing:

Just clarity increased a touch. 1:1 aspect ratio was set in the camera while taking the picture.

Location:

Salt Pond Visitor Center, Cape Cod

Looking north-west toward Dennis in this flooded cranberry bog in Harwich on Cape Cod. The farmers have flooded the bog, shaken out the bushes and now the cranberries are all floating on the surface. Later they will suck them up using huge vacuum machines, loading them into open trailer trucks.

There may have been 90 seconds worth and then the clouds covered it up again and then the wind and rain.

This is a relatively uninteresting photo but the flare is out of control so I found it entertaining.
