Our final destination on the eastern South Africa trip was Wakkerstroom, a town surrounded by a unique grassland environment with lots of special birds.

This Red-capped Lark was one of many we saw that day; the real target of this site was the White-bellied Bustard, which we saw but got no photos of.

Black Capped Chicadee
One of my favorite liitle birds. They can be quite tame, and I find myself laughing time and time again over their acrobats in the air. These guys stick around all year long and survive the cold winter nights by lowering their body temperature.
