It was a sensational day in Lakeland yesterday. We went to Mardale to bag the few Far Eastern Fells we had left. This was the view from the road just as we set off walking. Mardale is quite possibly my favorite place in the Lakes and that's saying something.

So winter has finally arrived in the UK following the warm and very wet December. Like an excited kid I headed to the North Yorks Moors which had had a nice thick coating on the higher ground. This shot is of Drake Howe, the high point of Cringle Moor, Hughie for once actually posed nicely for a shot.

Another photo taken recently at Broadstone reservoir.

The tree on the left provides some nice reflections when the reservoir is still, as it was here, a bit of colour in the evening sky adds a bit of interest too.
