Bleary eyed I dragged myself out of bed after a late night shooting with Canon NZ and headed down to the beach to see what sunrise would bring, Lion rock is pretty impressive and I wanted to capture the grass in the foreground rather than drown myself in the west coast swells.
I managed a 3 shot bracket to get this then heavy rain came down and I headed back to bed pretty damned quickly, almost missed breakfast at the cafe after sleeping in :D
Saturday night Astro images to come soon!

Lake Pearson (Moana Rua) is a high country lake in the Waimakariri Basin, tranquil and calm today. It's mid-winter we would normally see this area covered in snow but our planet is changing, no snow today.

The White Heron is protected and native to New Zealand. They can be found on inland and tidal waterways. This one was fishing for eels in the Ashley Rakahuri Estuary before taking flight.

I was walking through Napier today and took a shot of this window I quite often walk past on my strolls through town. I think it once was a law office as, according to Wikipedia:
"A notary public (sometimes called a notary or a public notary) in New Zealand is a lawyer authorised by the Archbishop of Canterbury in England to officially witness signatures on legal documents, collect sworn statements, administer oaths and certify the authenticity of legal documents for use overseas"
There you go!

The air is bitter as the sun shines and the snow glistens under a bright blue sky.

A little bit of everything, some shades of autumn against the blue sky, a snowy band rotunda and a fading rose garden making way for a new season. Not often seen in this part of the South Island, snow struck on our day 6 of winter.

I’ll visit later in the day next time ... when it’s open!
