I tell my friends that a passion for photography is not for all. When they are sleeping I am up hunting the light. When they are at dinner, I am watching for that ray that will make my image.
On this morning, I left home at 4am heading for a predetermined destination. The sun rises at 5:21am here and I knew just where I wanted to be. 15 minutes out I realized I had forgotten my insulin and as a diabetic, that's not an option. Back home I went thinking why bother, I will not make my destination now.
Instead, I figured go with your motto, "you never know till you go". Along Hwy 1 is Sibbold Creek and I figured I would arrive there close to sunrise. Over a fence I went hunting for a suitable foreground object. While every good photo tells a story, I guess every photo also has a story. If I had made it to my destination, this shot would have never happened. It also pays to know your area, but I sure love to get out and bring home a story.
Day 5. Picked up a new Canon 6D today.
I had been planning to get the 6D Mark II, but with still no official confirmation of the specs or when its going to come out, I jumped at the chance to get a Mark I while it was on special offer in the New Year sales. I'm looking forward to playing around with it at the weekend :)
