Further progress on the Canoness. Got some red on her robes (which will eventually be lined/braided with gold) so we can see a better idea of the overall colour scheme. Plus a little more tweaking on the face. She has an eyebrow now and a bit more work on the mouth.

 

She's still looking a bit mucky as the base coats have just had washes to tone them down. Look forward to getting proper shading on her to clean her right up again.

Embarqués sur des pirogues ou des "canoas", des enfants parfois très jeunes (moins de 10 ans pour la plupart) bravent quotidiennement le danger pour s'accrocher aux bateaux qui passent sur le fleuve.

Ils s'attachent rapidement à notre bateau qui lui, bien sur, ne s'arrête pas.

Ensuite ils grimpent sur le pont inférieur puis les différents étages pour vendre des crevettes séchées (délicieuses avec la bière) ou des coeurs de palmiers mais aussi des choses bien moins avouables...

Le danger est permanent car ils risquent à tout moment de tomber et de finir déchiquetés par les hélices du bateau.

Cela leur permet de gagner quelques réals afin d'aider leur famille à vivre... ou survivre.

RNF-raduno Livorno

Finally started work on my Adepta Sororitas Canoness. As she's not for tabletop play I am pulling out all the stops and going for a showcase painting style - pushing myself.

 

I'm also trying out a different approach, focusing on small areas and bringing them to near completion before moving on. Normally I do all base coats, then all shadows, then all highlights, etc
