I wanted to make a nice and relaxing nature video for all the people who couldn't get outside and chose to self isolate like myself. I fall under the 'at risk' list so I'm remaining inside for however long it takes, I just wish I had someone to ride out this pandemic with.
I hope you are all well and keeping safe, there is a lot about this virus that we don't know yet or we aren't being told.
One of my all time best place to go for a hike and take photos reasonably close to home.
Joffre Lakes, 3 amazing lakes for the price of one !
This is Joffre Lake Middle, high in the alpine wilderness of British Columbia, Canada
Red squirrels are quite energetic and busy little animals, which make them difficult to photograph sometimes.
I waited for a while to capture this red squirrel as it kept its head buried in the snow while rummaging for bird seeds and occasionally looking up to keep an eye on me. It almost appeared to be smiling for the camera in appreciation of having its portrait taken!
On a beautiful sunny day, Moraine Lake reveals different shades of blue and by midday, a vibrant emerald blue. You will never be short of amazed no matter how many times you visit this special place. Definitely one of Canada's gems!
This print is available as a beautiful canvas or metal print.

One of the most visited and probably most iconic place in Canada, Moraine Lake does not disappoint! Also known as "The Valley of the Ten Peaks, its emerald blue waters will keep you mesmerized and keep you coming back for more
Check out this photo and many more on my new website:
A pine marten waits patiently on the limb of this pine tree before scurrying down to the nearby waste bins!
It's amazing to watch cardinals and their beautiful red colouring... it's even more amazing to watch a pair of cardinals claim territory over a hoard of sunflower seeds!
These two male cardinals must have exchanged spots numerous times until all of the seeds were gone
While photographing along the lake shore, I had a lengthy photoshoot with this beautiful raccoon who put on quite a display for the camera
Most of the time as a photographer, you have to be extremely patient and lucky to photograph certain animals such as coyotes.
Contrary to what we read or see in the news, animals such as coyotes are more scared of us than we are of them.
After waiting for about 3 hours hidden in the brush, a family of coyote walked past me without noticing me at first. I was fortunate enough to snap this portrait of one of the coyotes before they quickly disappeared into the forest
Talk about being in the right place at the right time! While photographing cardinals and getting ready to go home, I spotted this beautiful male coyote staring right at me through the brush.
I was very lucky that I was able to quickly snap a few shots and get this stunning portrait before he quickly ran off with his female companion.
On an overcast winter day, this male cardinal stands out in the in the branches of the tree. Its vibrant red can be seen from a distance like a red glow in the forest.
No matter how many times I photograph cardinals, it's amazing how poignant they appear in images
Certain birds pop with colour, particularly males. This male oriole definitely stands out with its stunning orange breast!
When visiting Whistler, BC, you almost need a few months to witness and experience all of its natural beauty. Aside from Whistler Village and the sites of the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler has numerous lakes, hiking trails, and provincial parks in its midst.
A younger pine marten stops briefly on this pine tree after taking notice of me before quickly disappearing into the forest.
Pine martens appear to be very cute animals but they are very vicious to their prey with their sharp claws and teeth
This Red Fox was king for quite some time and fathered many kits over many years. He's in fox heaven now. Here, he appears to have found a resting place fit for his awesomeness.
A baby rabbit stops in its tracks and stares at me with curiosity before hopping back into the tall brush
On a trip to Moraine Lake, you might be lucky enough to see one of Banff's smaller wild animals; the pica.
Pica are small rodent-like mammals that make their homes in the boulders and rocks. Although they are difficult to spot, listen for their squeaking sound as they are quite loud
It is often that the male cardinal gets most of the attention because of its beautiful bold red colour. However, if you have ever seen a female cardinal up close in the wild, you will agree that they are equally beautiful like this female sporting a cool slick doo!

No April foolin' here, this is one of my favourite places to hang out.

After running around and playing with its siblings, this fox kit decides to quench its thirst by the lake

If you've ever witnessed a red-bellied woodpecker up close you will be amazed at their dazzling red head and black and white coat!
Red-bellied woodpeckers are the medium-sized members of the woodpecker family and they are quite noticeable in the forest as they make loud and frequent calls
Sometimes the best things that we experience are those that we don't expect to happen!
While photographing a pair of Orioles nesting, I didn't notice this young fawn to the right of me. It slowly starting to approach me possible thinking for a moment I was its mother before disappearing into the green thicket with two adult females.
While photographing a variety of birds in a local conservation area, I was pleasantly surprised when a female oriole landed on this nearby bush.
Everytime I go out to photograph wildlife, I am always amazed of what I find even if it's not what I am exactly searching for!
Emerald Lake is just a short drive from Banff's Lake Louise and a must see if you are visiting the Canadian Rockies!
Emerald Lake is located in British Columbia's Yoho National Park and is known for its stunning turquoise waters. If you arrive early in the morning, take a scenic hike around the lake to see beautiful reflections of the surrounding mountains
It's not very often that you get close to a wild bird, particularly a wild hawk. While photographing swallows, this beautiful hawk landed on the tree above me searching for prey.
Without making any sudden movements, I was able to move in place and take some candid portraits before the hawk flew off to another tree
If you have had the chance to see a beaver in the wild, most of the time they are in the water.
When I came across this particular beaver, it was on the snowbank grooming itself showing off its beautiful dry pelt. During the Fur Trade, it was this pelt that was highly sought after causing the beaver to almost go extinct.
Beaver populations have rebounded since and they have become one of the most iconic species found in Canada.
While photographing this heron, it was amazing the determination and patience it displayed while searching for fish.
Herons have very keen eyesight and can remain extremely still before quickly plunging its pointy beak into the water to capture its prey.
Wishing all of my fellow photographers a very Happy Easter weekend! Like the robin symbolizes the start of Spring, Easter is a time to celebrate new beginnings!
Celebrate this Easter safely with those that are close to you
In a small pond I captured this small frog echoing its mating call to other nearby frogs. It was quite a site to see all of the frogs put on this musical display at the same time as if they were in a chorus together!
If you ever see a grizzly up close, you will be amazed by their sheer size and power. Although grizzly bears may appear to look "cute and cuddly" they are unpredictable animals with incredible territorial instincts if provoked or encountered too closely.
It is a humbling experience to witness these great mammals in the wild, but we must remember to respect them and the habitats they live in
Overlooking the towns of Banff and Canmore is the Rundle Mountain.
During a recent evening trip up the Banff Gondola, we were treated to beautiful and serene views of the Banff National Park and the town of Banff, as well as this spectacular spotlight on Mount Rundle.
Sometimes when I am out photographing birds, it feels as if I am playing hide and seek with them, particularly with woodpeckers.
Woodpeckers can move very quickly as they maneuver from tree to tree and behind branches where they are difficult to photograph. All in all, it is a rewarding experience when you finally get a clear shot of one hanging from a branch of a tree
A quick glimpse of a coyote running through the open fields before quickly disappearing into the forest.
As a wildlife photographer, sometimes you get lucky to be in the right place at the right time!
During a recent outing, I was photographing a variety of birds on a generally overcast day. However, at the right time this male cardinal landed on this branch as the sun peaked out from behind the clouds acting like a spotlight on this red beauty!
Photographing cardinals is amazing during any season, particularly during a snowy scene in the winter months.
During a recent snowfall, I waited patiently for this male cardinal to make a landing on this branch covered in snow. I love the contrast a male cardinal makes with its deep red colouring and the fluffy white snow. Truly beautiful birds!
