As Durga Puja and Navratri draws to a close with Vijayadashmi or Dussehra, Maa Durga devotees gear up to bid adieu to goddess in a grand celebration. One of the most important rituals of the final day of Durga Puja festivities is Sindur Khela, where married women in Bengal smear each other with sindur or vermillion and pray for the long lives of their husband. It is said that goddess Durga visit her parents - mother Menoka and father Giriraj - for four days, along with her children Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya, goddess Saraswati and Laxmi, and is treated to a variety of bhogs during this time. On Dashmi, it's time for the goddess to return to Lord Shiva, her husband's home, and the devotees make sure to give her a grand farewell by smearing sindur on her forehead and feet and offering her betel leave and sweets.
For being so spontaneous, I quite like this.
I found those doll heads while cleaning out my basement for the studio I'm building. I want to do more with them. :)
And I've asked this before but didn't get a response...What are the best lights/brands to buy from for a studio? Remember I don't have a very large budget.

Back along the River Avon now, for another evening walk. As well as snatching a shot of this couple, I liked the spiral staircase on the other side of the river!
Sort of like street photography but on a trolley, I got this candid shot of a woman taking some kids for a ride. I don't know if they were her kids or "Uncle Charlie's" kids. She was checking in frequently with Uncle Charlie about how many treats to give to the dogs. Either way, they were a great family to share a trolley ride.
She was so kind and let me trade seats a few times to get cool photos from the windows on the other side of the trolley. I like to remember the kind people I meet so I got this photo.

I did not have much time to take this photograph as I had just got off the bus.
I saw this lady walking up Briggate in Leeds and I noticed this looming shadow appear which attracted me to take this photograph. Not my best but still an interesting figure.

While I was checking to see if the light was still green, a friend caught the moment across the street.
