People in B.C. will have improved access to cervical cancer screening as a provincewide cervix self-screening program launches, including the option to screen at home, a first in Canada.

This infographic from Clinical Trials GPS has the latest statistics when it comes to the prevalence of cervical cancer in the US. Viewers will also find information on the available screening tests (most importantly the Pap test) and known causes (primarily HPV). Of particular note would be the information concerning the HPV vaccine which has reduced the incidence of cancer-causing viral infections by 56 percent. You’ll also find a list of cervical cancer awareness events which are open to anyone who is interested in joining. Although January may be close to over, it’s not too late to help raise awareness for this worthy cause.

Healthcare professionals gave talks on a variety of topics to those waiting in line for their free cancer screening at the MUA Cancer Awareness event.

I do wonder how these young ladies might feel about Sarah Palin. However they feel, they were looking in approximately the correct direction from their location at Baltimore's Inner Harbor to the location where Sarah Palin had visited Baltimore on Monday.
