In late October I had the chance to spend a weekend out in Canmore, AB and was fortunate enough to get out along the river just as the sun started shining on Grassi, Ha Ling and Rundle Peaks.

I was a little sad that I missed the glorious sunset last night. I lost my credit and debit card and was on a serious hunt. By the time I thankfully found my cards, there wasn't much light left but got this twilight shot out at 3 Valley Gap, near Revelstoke, BC. Sometimes, I believe, stuff is meant to happen. I wouldn't have gotten this shot if I was out earlier.

Taken from Boulder Mountain, you can see Revelstoke below and a small part of the Columbia River. Boulder Mountain is a popular mountain biking destination in the summer and sledding destination in the winter and I can see why...with these views, how can you go wrong?!

This image I captured shortly past sunrise as the tide was being pushed up the bay by a strong, persistent wind. The wave heights were amazing and the sea-sounds were mesmerizing. I found it interesting that the stand-alone cloud near mimics the crashing wave in shape and color.

Along the transcanada highway between Sicamous and Revelstoke there is a great pullout where the "last spike" of the railroad went in. If you follow a paved path that leads back up to the highway and then carefully cross the highway (be VERY careful) you enter a gorgeous little trail called the Gorge Creek Trail which is clearly closed. Disregard the signage, make lots of noise and you will come across the first of three waterfalls. Fir Falls. Carry on and you come across Cedar Falls and lastly Hemlock Falls. A short easy little hike that used to be a loop trail but after a wind storm the bridge connecting both sides is unsafe to cross.

We hopped in the car and left the big city really early this morning to get out into the park and wait for the sun to rise. The skies looked like they weren't going to cooperate, and we even considered moving on to another location. Fortunately, we waited it out, as we did get some really nice light for at least a few minutes!

After a much needed rain, it is always nice to head out and look at the smaller details in nature. Water droplets on a daisy is a real treat. Enjoy!
