White tail deer grazing in the campground in Gooseberry Falls State Park.
The park is located in Castle Danger, Minnesota (north of Two Harbors) on Lake Superior's North Shore.
Pilot Knob State Park - Iowa
The view is heading east to the state park campgrounds which is very popular through the three seasons. The mystery here is why one side is always so colorful, and the other is dull as toast! LoL
It's an area that I document every year, but also hike miles along this road in all four seasons.

In the Flambeau River State Forest. It has a bit of road noise compared to the other campground in the forest, but the sites are better (larger, spaced better, and several have lake views & access).
On the 21th day I woke up at the Bergen campground with this view behind my tent. The geese where swimming peacefully, and it reminds me I haven't much bird shots, for two reasons. I didn't see many birds (apart from sparrows and wagtails), and second my 200 mm lens broke down on the first day, so it was rather useless to try something. this was done with a 50 mm, so they were almost in my nose when I shot this.
The rest of the day i walked through Bergen but I am not very happy with the result. This is probably the best I have from this day.
Lovely valleys, bare mountains and cold winds, snow packs, glaciers, beautiful lakes, and then there are the enchanting fjords that never stop to amaze. The most beautiful country of Europe, for me no doubt about that, with only one minor aspect, which is the weather. During my month of traveling I only had 4 really nice days, the rest of the time clouds, rain, and very changeable! Still no regret, and I will go back to make even more than the 3500 pictures that I took this time.
Another very active
vacation that took me to the south west up to Trondheim in a sort of triangle between Oslo- Trondheim and Bergen with the whole route visible here (www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153668247101759&set...).

Pilot Knob State Park - Iowa
I checked this area about three days ago and it was rather dull in color. So, I decided to check it again yesterday afternoon, and to my surprise the autumn colors were finally blooming!
I have taken photos of this road in previous years, and each time it never disappoints.

A Great Horned Owl and her mate (who was fast asleep on another branch) enjoy the few Eucalyptus Trees in the Carrizo Plain. It’s always fun to search for them because they move from tree to tree. Often they are too high for photos. On this visit, she was mostly visible.
Leaves (mostly aspen (Populus tremuloides) and narrowleaf cottonwood (Populus langustifolia brighten Leigh Creek Campground in Tensleep Canyon, Bighorn National Forest, Wyoming.
This was the first canyon that I explored on a recent trip to the Bridgeport area in the Eastern Sierras. The shooting conditions weren't the greatest here, but the aspens were perfect for taking in fall colors. It was snowing on me when I first got here, and I took advantage when it slowed down to take a few pictures. The clouds were just starting to break, and the light was getting better.
The campground runs quite a way next to Mill Creek. Most of the campgrounds are under an aspen canopy. It looks like a great location for camping. I definitely want to come back and check out the fishing.
This was our view from the campground nearest to Kappa Bridge, at the start of the Kamikochi hiking trail. We camped here for a night before embarking on a 15km hike up Karasawa Hutte.
Originally intending to photograph star trails at this location since the North Star is framed nicely in the middle for this location, but the thick clouds obscured our view of both the night sky and the Hida mountain range.
Nevertheless, while looking through my raw files for usable frames, I came across this 8 minute exposure that was part of a sequence for the hour-long star trail that we did. The clouds, though thick, happened to positioned very dynamically for this scene. Though I'd still prefer a full hour-long of circular star trails in a clear night sky, I'm pretty satisfied with this exposure as well.

During the first night after we began paddling, we had a ferocious thunderstorm. Next campsite -- all kinds of attempts to dry everything (or at least some stuff) out.
It got down to 32°F, but the morning was well worth It! I took this picture after a night camping at Oak Mountain State Park, AL.
Happy Bench Monday!
For years every time I went into Mount Rainier's Paradise Entrance I'd pass the sign signifying Sunshine Point Campground and kept telling myself that I'd check it out when I leave and never did. On November 6-7 2006 18 inches of rain fell in 36 hours and everyone was evacuated from the park. The road to Ipsut campground and the Westside Road were wiped out and never replaced and 5 1/2 acres of Sunshine Point disappeared along with the road to it as it was washed away by the raging Tahoma Creek and Nisqually River. There were 18 sites, I saw maybe ten, the toilets are gone, but the garbage and recycling bins remain as do the remains of the hefty benches and fire pits like this one in site 8. The Loop is still on the Flickr Map! Doesn't look like that any more.....
This view reveals the totality of the burn and though the grou8nd is green again, it'll be awhile before there's green back in the crown...most of what will be will be Lodgepole Pine
Here's one from the Colonial Creek Campground in North Cascades National Park, Washington. There are a couple of walk-in sites that are right next to this creek and others in the trees along the Diablo Lake shore. Pretty nice.
A view from a more remote campground in Badlands National Park, South Dakota. In my notes, I call this the South Campground, but I believe that today it is known as the Sage Creek Campground. Futhermore, when I was there, it looked very much like the path less travelled. Recent photos make it look over-populated.
