Today we went down to the OC to visit my folks. We stopped by South Coast Plaza, which is probably the most well known mall in California. Always crowded with tourists it seems.
Anyways, good thing I brought my camera. Got some fun shots of the kids. Dunno why Jessie tilted her head here. Maybe cuz she saw me tilting the camera, so she figured she'd tilt her head too. :) Anyways, it's cute...even though I muffed up the focusing a tad. How...I have no idea. She sat perfectly still. At 1/50 sec, there's no way this shoulda been out of focus. :D
Light drizzle, rain drops on the lens. Myself stretched out in a puddle, umbrella in one hand, remote trigger in the other, camera perched on a rumpled bag in between. Neighbors understandably concerned. Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II

A bit of food photography for today. A friend from work bought these for Dan's birthday (which was super kind!) Too many treats these past few days, and too good not to photograph.
...well, maybe don't.
I'll have you know this was shot in my townhouse without the aid of a tripod. otherwise it would probably have been a mirror shot along that vein. xD
and now I would love to sit and stalk your streams but I have to go to work. cheers.

I got the idea in my head this morning about making the water tilt in the glass so I decided to attempt it tonight. I set up a homemade studio and while taking pictures, realized that if I kept a dim light on the glass, I could get a shadow plus have time to light paint. Here is the result! This was a fun picture to try out.

My daughter and I happened upon the strangest installation art I've ever seen as we were heading from Santa Fe to Albuquerque on the Turquoise Trail. Called Tiny Town, it's a very odd collection of discarded items cobbled together to form a tiny town. These legs were at the entrance. The place was in the middle of nowhere and not another living thing was in sight. It was quite an experience!
I just got my extension tubes in the mail and wanted to try them out. This Kodak sign was roughly the size of a fingernail. I'm amazed at the focus this $9 extension tube is capable off (www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Extension-Extreme-Close-up-Digita...). This is on the same camera as in one of my other pictures. Here is the link to that one www.flickr.com/photos/mattgharrisphotography/6758564519/i.... You can from that picture get a sense of how big this emblem was. More to come with my new extension tubes :) As always, let me know what you think!

I found this old camera in a box of things from my grandmother's house and decided to put it in my home made studio and do some shooting. I came up with a caption in the photo that says "Indie?" I thought the camera, tilt, colors, and light painting made this photo indie but tell me what you think!
