Rotating the steel bridge in portland spending the night there with Patrick Collier. Night 4 of 5 on my trip to the states. I would love to get out and do some more urban stuff in Portland.

I found this image whilst looking for another and decided to re-process the raw file.

I have the original on my wall at home and I was very proud to have got 6th in the International Lightpainting Award a few years back with it.

Having the image on my wall has highlighted a few things I'd have done differently. In this case it was a boost in the shadows and blacks to bring out the detail of the sky.

I'm much happier with this version as it's still recognizable as the original just polished a little.

Originally shot using a camera rotation tool, lens cap between rotations lit with a red and then a blue gel.

Victoria BC my new favorite thing. Out for A walk doing camera rotations found these boxes and started experimenting and this came to me. 4 rotated positions at 90 degrees then I leveled it off shifted horizontally 5 degrees. Enjoy!

3 way rotation of the mini circle blade.

I had the front room to myself this evening so took advantage with an hour or so faffing about.

In the end I had a couple of choices but this one edged it :)

No ice cream at night! Camera rotation walking alone at night downtown. Enjoy your Sunday! graveyardworker.com

Paul from Lace, Phill F and I had a superb long weekend of camping, photography and general top times up in the Peak District. Top laugh from start to finish and I'm sure we all came away with some beautiful light art as a bonus.

This one was shot on Friday night down in Chee Dale, just off the Monsal Trail. First we hit up the stepping stones with the BLS and once happy with that I noticed a few strands of ivy clinging to the limestone wall next to our bags. I had my CRT with me so set about cross lighting the ivy then rotating the camera. Phill kindly lent me his tripod so I could set that up pointing straight down the foot bridge for the second part of the exposure. Once happy with the cross lighting I capped the lens, swapped tripods, changed aperture and focus before removing the cap. Phill kindly took up position whilst I back lit him with a selection of @lightpaintingbrushes tools paired with my net curtain for the fire effect.

Once this popped up on the back of my camera I can safely say I have my mojo back and can't wait to get back out again now my knee is all fixed up.

Top times in top company and here's to the next adventure.

Victoria BC,

A simple rotation of these crazy boxes that I know of. I posted one of these boxes a while ago, but just like this simple one lots. What do you think?

After my shift I decided to do some experimenting with camera rotation again. This is the roof of my work rotated into 6 positions in one single exposure using the lens cap. Adujustments in lightroom no photoshop. www.graveyardworker.com/

A just about perfect evening out light painting tonight in the most surreal place I think I've been. Cheers to Chris T and Komeg for their patience whilst I calibrated my camera rotation tool.

Long exposure camera rotation light art shot during a single long lens capped exposure. Minor faffing in LR.

Inspired by TCB's eggtimeresque shot from a while back.

Out camera rotating and painting at Macaulay point park. Hand lit single exposure capped and rotated 12 times.

More of an exercise than for the outcome, although I quite like how it turned out.

Off-kilter camera rotation with a gap left then a tripod swap to the hand element seemingly plucking the leaf from the others.

Hand lit from above with 1 x Yongnuo 560iv into a beauty dish and below by 1 x Yongnuo 560iv with gel and snoot.

Single long exposure light art created in complete darkness in my kitchen.

Raw conversion in LR with a 16:9 crop and levels adjustments.

I took a quick walk rather than doing some things I know I should do. I made this at least. Makes me think of ladders. What do you see?

I have to use My time spaceship to get all these shots. Mercedes as close as we have here i guess. Really loving these rotation shots. I hope you do let me know what you think.

Another tidy night up int thills tonight with Chris T and an assortment of light emitting tools. Chief among which Chris's Led Lenser.

Here mounted on a light stand and gelled ice blue for the first half of the exposure and orange for the second after a 180 degree camera flip.

As always a great night out in great company.

This is number 316 of my 366.

After bottling going to the depths of Padley Gorge on Friday alone, and a failed plan to go there the week before that with Jonathan, when he was available to shoot this evening there was only one place we were heading.

I taped two of my torches together to try and achieve some rascal lumen back lighting but would much prefer a real torch whopper like Chris T.

This a well shot spot for local LP'ers and I've chosen to go portrait orientation on this one...and am quite happy to nail a flip for a change :). Obviously inspired by Tim and Chris who produce some A1 work in this very spot.

Top night albeit a late one for a midweek outing...but hey I'm into single figures now so who cares (probably me tomorrow!).

Nice one Jonathan...top night.
