A statue of Mary at St. Mary's Catholic Church around the corner. I shot this with the phone using the Camera+ app in RAW. I then did a quick edit with an app called Focos which is similar to witchcraft! Seriously, it is computational photography and it determined the depth of field and blurred out the background automatically. It kind of missed a bit on the gutter behind Mary's left shoulder but otherwise seemed to work pretty good. I then got on the iMac and used Photos to edit with Affinity Photo to tweak it a bit further with contrast and what not... I just got the Focos app and I will probably play with it a bit before I get the lifetime pro version, I don't know yet...
Day 123 of 365. Luna enjoys a giant slim jim type snack. Taken with iPhone camera+ app in RAW. Edited with Affinity Photo on iMac.
Went out to try my new 10 stop Haida ND filter (marketed on Amazon under brand name 'Camera Plus') to smooth out the water. Great price for a 10 stop, and no colour cast compared to a similar shot without the filter.

I'm always amazed at the quality of photos you can get with the iPhone. Mobile photography is truly revolutionizing the way we capture our memories. I love that I can take a picture and seconds later share it with the world. I don't need thousands of dollars worth of gear or a suped up computer with expensive photo editing software, I just reach in my pocket, snap a photo with my phone, tap a one-touch FX and I've captured this gorgeous sunset in Central Park.
