Eine schöne Variante, alte Kameras für ein Kunstprojekt zu verwenden. Gesehen in Berlin Mitte.

A nice variation to use old cameras for an art project. Seen in Berlin Mitte.

I love my Sony RX100. It has over 20 MP, can fit in my pocket, has a great lens, and has a killer watercolor feature. I often find myself taking it with me rather than my Canon 40D DSLR. Most reviews say it's the best pocket digital camera you can buy. But do these compact cameras have a future given the advances in phone cameras? Phone cameras today are able to add so much more functionality via software, it's hard to see how these won't be relics.

Not every model, and certainly not every variation, but a pretty good sampling of Ciro's history:

In front, a Sears Marvel-Flex, flanked by two Ciro-Flex A's, all dating from c.1941 (only the A on the right has a serial number).

Behind those, a B in the center, a C on the left and an early example of the F on the right, all from c.1948-49;

And in the rear, a DeJur DR-10 from 1953. There ought to be a Graflex 22 back here, but I'm fresh out of those at the moment.

Some random trivia relating to Ciroflex variations:

Ok Willie, I will take your photo...again! Willie will not let me take another bird's photo till I have taken one of him first. HE is most special; ask him he WILL tell you so!

Have been a bit slack on the night photos recently - partly due to deciding my DSLR kit was too much of a pain to lug around, so I've downsized to a Sony A6000.

Seems to have done a good job with the long exposure shots I tried tonight.

A little glance back would have been perfect. :)

Macro Mondays theme 4 Nov 19: Brand and Logos

The Leica red dot and/or the Leica name feature prominently on all Leica cameras, and the Q-P is no exception with the Leica branding prominently featured on the top of the body of the Q-P. “Lacking the Leica red dot logo, but instead featuring a restrained, classic Leica script engraved on the top plate [as seen here], the discreet design of the Leica Q-P sets it apart from the existing Leica Q models in silver and black. The matte black paint finish of the camera body is especially resilient and underlines its refined and elegant looks.”

Leica Camera AG has its headquarters in Wetzlar, in the state of Hessen in Germany, and a second production site in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal.

Happy Macro Monday!

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” – Elliott Erwitt

We had traveled to the remote Yucatecan site of Ake, a fabulous archeological site near a small village. We were stuck in the village for about 4 hours until the next combi left for Tixkobob, where we caught a second-class bus to Izamal.

We bought a coke and sat in the shade of this place, where this kid had a lot of fun taking pictures of us with this camera.

This is my cherished first camera given to me as a present when I was a child. Happy crazy Tuesday everyone!!

To all the people who inquire about this Polaroid photo box/drawer. I did not make this. I do not have a pdf, print or copy for you to download. I cannot make one for you and I do not know how to make one. I bought it from an etsy seller. The etsy seller has now closed the shop. It is from Korea. Try searching for "Polaroid photo box" or something similar at Etsy. There may be other etsy sellers in Korea who sell them.

It is not a pinhole camera either. It's just a box to keep your Polaroids in.

And to all the people on Tumblr who steal this photograph, it's really not that interesting.

Here's the secret feature — the Mini Camera (SLR) opens to reveal a film roll on the inside!

In the heart of winter, she strolled through the snow-covered streets with her signature boldness. While others clutched steaming drinks to keep warm, she proudly held a Frozen Peach—a playful twist that perfectly complemented her unique style. Because who said you can't enjoy a frosty cocktail beneath a flurry of snowflakes? That winter evening, she owned the scene with elegance and charm, dressed to conquer the snowy backdrop like a true fashion icon.

Bunny usually spends her time in front of the camera, but she is very aware of what I do behind the camera. So much so, that she often anticipates my moves before I tell her what I want. So, today, she decided to give being behind the camera a shot.

Early cameras are great... as well as being fascinating objects you are left wondering about the photographer/s who used them and all the people and places they captured...
