Two of the three calves born at the Highland Wildlife park this year.
The park has one of the largest herds in the Uk and is part of the European breeding progamme dedicated to bringing this animal back from the brink of extinction. There are now 3500 free roaming European Bison from 12 individuals
Two very young calves come nose to nose with each other in the field. I don't think they are but a couple of weeks old with the younger one being on the left.

The Lighthouse on SThe cows are left on their own on the alps during the summer. When a hiker comes by they seem to appreciate the company.

Something or some noise got them up from where they were laying. After a couple of minutes they were back down in the grass again.
I'm not sure if these two calves are from two different mothers, or twins!! They appear to be the same age!!! :) Have a nice day everyone!!!! :)
Sometime more than a year ago. Little aware of how much would us be using this private spot.

It is rare that elephants have twins but a suckling female will adopt another youngster if something has happened to its mother.
