I was lucky enough to bring home some flowers from my niece's wedding, so have been having fun photographing them.

looks like the Calla Lilies have been destroyed after the rain storm or had been washed down by the heavy rain

che ovviamente è per Anto ;-)

Ma anche per Angelo poiché l'ho ripresa mentre mi offriva il caffè ;-)

学名 Zantedeschia

- Lisbon, Portugal -

Not for everyone! I know...

I love 'abstracting', letting you see pure shape.

Zantedeschia, usually called Calla or arum lilies( when white), they are not a true lily.

It is named after Italian botanist Francesco Zantedeschia.

More experiments with lights and shapes...

Thanx for your comment and visits, as always, much appreciated. M, (*_*)

The Zantedeschia species are poisonous due to the presence of calcium oxalate.

All parts of the plant are toxic!

I can play around with this calla lily a whole day...

February's delight.

A Calla Lilly mono'd. This seemed a more traditional treatment for these graceful flowers. The colours are beautiful, but the curves deserve attention as well.

Calla lilies (Zantedeschia), are a subtropical perennial, originating from South Africa. They grow from Rhizomes and are popular as garden flowers. They have gorgeous chalice-shaped flowers and arrow-shaped spotted leaves that can sometimes be speckled. Great when planted into garden borders or into container.
