What a morning, it sure was an experience. It was very foggy. Harris, and I arrived at 8:00 and we had no idea if the Snowy Owl was going to be there. Bill called us and said "get down here on the double", they had already found it. So all we had to do was hike 1 1/2 miles on the beach-about 45 mins to get to the owl. When we arrived there were about 30 people there. What an exciting moment when we saw the Owl.

Another photo from the farm/marsh land we shouldn't have been on! The worst bit was the lad escorting us off the land for a good 10min. I tried my best to crack a joke with him blaming Rebecca(which it was totally her fault) but he wasn't impressed and called us idiots a few times!
To put it into perspective, his farmland is next to a military firing range. At the time the firing range was not operating, but he obviously doesn't want people thinking its ok to have a wander across his land.
One thing i will say though, he called us idiots and said we could take "just as good photos" from the path. Yep i agree we were idiots but the marsh inlets made for some good compositions so i disagree 😋
Wont be doing that again though!

Three woman, three porters, and three weeks in the Hymalayas hiking the Annapurna Circuit. 120 miles and nearly 18,000 feet in elevation! I think bragging rights have been earned, lol!
This image was one taken near Bhulbhule where we started our trekking adventure. By the time we were done, our porters called us all 'grandma', and have stayed in contact with us. They became such dear friends and helped us so much! (To be fair to us ladies, the porters were close to the ages of our children, but we are grandmas, so we've earned the title. Sally has 14 grandchildren, I have two, and Beth runs a home for homeless children in the Philippines.)
The image just doesn't capture the beauty. I tried to work photoshop...trying to bring out a little more detail in the mountains, I hope it looks okay to you.) My biggest regret was that I didn't have my nicest lens and tripod. I found shooting images to be very challenging with the contrast in the far reaching Anna Purna I mountain range in the far distance. I didn't want to burden our poor porters with more weight, or myself! So I chose my nikon D850 with the 18-400 tamron lens, which works better on the D500 because it's a cropped lens. I took a friends advice and paired them together hoping to get a good combination so I could zoom in to the mountains and have a good all around lens. Anyway, I am wanting to go back and do more trekking in Nepal, Base Camp to Mt. Everest is calling my name! Any suggestions for a good...lightweight.....all around lens and camera for this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the views! I'm hoping to start sharing more of my images. I've got 5 weeks of Nepal, Alaska, S. Africa, Sawtooths in Idaho, Lake Powell in Utah, Minnesota, Florida....I've been playing run-a-way this past year. I'll try and get by to your photostreams as time allows. ahhh, flickr. i'm horrible! i know this! i never upload anything for you guys anymore and even when i do it's not really worth it. i'm just excited for summer because hopefully i'll have more time on my hands then. springbreak was a nice relaxer though.

My husband is taking the day off of work tomorrow and we are heading to the nearest shopping mall (4hrs away) to do our Christmas shopping. We our doing all our Christmas shopping for four boys in one day, call us CRAZY Chorney's..........
Last night was a blast...We have this huge group of college kids out here for there freshman orientation. These guys wanted to go swimming late at night so we all did. We caught lobsters and crabs and saw glowing fish. Pretty bad ass!!!! All of were joking that we looked like Navy Seals when we came out of the water they called us team alpha.
I cant take credit for taking the picture but i did edit it.
