*Saudade" pronounced: sawˈdadi or sawˈdadʒi in Calee and in Galician: sawˈðaðe; saudades is a unique word of ancient Portuguese origin that has no immediate translation in English. Saudade describes a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. It often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing will never return. It's related to the feelings of longing, yearning. A stronger form of saudade may be felt towards people and things whose whereabouts are unknown, such as a lost child , or a family member who has gone missing for a long time.
Saudade was once described as "the love that remains" after someone is gone. Saudade is the recollection of feelings, experiences, places or events that once brought excitement, pleasure and well-being, which now triggers the senses and makes one live again. It can be described as an emptiness, like someone one's deep love , parents, sibling, grandparents, friends, pets or places, things one used to do in childhood, or other activities performed in the past. In Portuguese, 'tenho saudade tuas', translates as 'I have saudade of you' meaning 'I miss you', but carries a much stronger tone. In fact, one can have 'saudade' of someone whom one is with, but have some feeling of loss towards the past or the future.

Jaina Lefevre slips quietly up the side along the wall, then spies Luci and runs right towards her, aiming to hug around her waist. "LUCI!"
Luci Jameson waves at Jaina. "S'up, Jainey-loo! Oof!" Hello, armful of Jaina! She cracks up and squeezes the little girl tight. "How you doooin? Keeping out of trouble, right? You know Whysper?"
Luci Jameson grins. "See, Whysper here's my roomie. So she's automatically cool by default." She turns that huge, cheeky grin on Whysper.
Whysper Noyes turned a little redder at the sister compliment and mumbled. "Thanks." Suddenly there was a whoosh of pale hair and tiny hands reaching. She stepped back out of the way as best she could and nodded. "She was like, here last week and stuff." god, could that bluch get any deeper. "I live i Luci's room."
Jaina Lefevre grins up at Whysper. "Hi. I'm Jaina. Lucy made me a lucky bracelet but my sleeves hides it. It's up here.." she points midway up her forearm. "She said boys ain't got cooties when they get older. Is that true?"
Luci Jameson elbows Whysper. "It's OUR room, dingbat." Still grinning, she lets Jaina go and looks around. "Guess we better sit, huh?" she mutters.
Jaina Lefevre tugs on Luci's sleeve. "Can I sit with you'n Whysper?"
Luci Jameson chants in a much deeper voice, "Piejesudomine...donaeisrequiem..." She pretends to hit herself in the head with an invisible book. Old movies for the win, whoo! "Yeah, sure, you can sit with us. C'mon."
Whysper Noyes reached up to tug at a braid again. "You were there first and stuff." she plopped on the floor in less than graceful pose.
Jaina Lefevre giggles. "Monty Python." She glances up at Luci. "I seen that when Nanny was asleep." she follows with them to sit.
Luci Jameson wrinkles her nose at Whysper and sticks out her tongue. "So? Our room now. So says I." She grins and flops down beside them. "Python rules. Only you can't see Meaning of Life until you're, like, a lot older, or your eyes might fall out.":
Jaina Lefevre frowns. "Is that the one with the giant boobies?"
Luci Jameson grins impishly at Whysper as she whispers to Jaina. "No, it's the one with the SEX."
Jaina Lefevre giggles. "I can see that jes lookin' for glass on the beach."
Luci Jameson crosses her eyes and makes a funny face. "Yuck, nakey peoples!" She smothers a laugh behind her hand and looks at the sister. Okay. Be cool. Smile. Innocence, thy name is Luci.
Whysper Noyes's eyes went wide and she whispered back to Luci. "You can't say SEX in CHURCH!!"
Luci Jameson whispers out of the corner of her mouth. "So totally can. Sex sex sex. See? No lightning."
Jaina Lefevre leans in to Luci and whispers. "River and I kissed once. It was kinda dumb. Don't see why 'dults think it's so great anyway." She looks over at Whysper. "They talk about sex...like..pro-crayon-ation (procreation) and stuff."
Whysper Noyes looked shocked and utterly impressed. "Ohh, the Father is so going to do that ear boxing thing to you one day."
Luci Jameson's head whips around. "You kissed RIVER?" It's a whisper, but a zomgwtf one anyway. "You didn't use tongue, did you?"
Jaina Lefevre makes an 'ewwgross' face. "I didn't /lick/ him! Mister Tau said it's not polite to lick other peoples in public!"
Luci Jameson leans back, propped on an elbow. She grins at Whysper. "He's gotta catch me first." To Jaina: "No, see, you don't LICK them. Okay, not really. You kiss, and you sorta open your mouth and nom, and there's some tongue and the first time, okay, it's sorta gross, but only because you don't expect it and tongues feel weird, but then you do it a little more and it's sorta cool." She puts her hand on her heart. "SweartaGod."
Whysper Noyes had totally forgotten thos ponytails now and was staring at Lucin in something akin to reverence. She was so asking who she'd been practicing on later.
Jaina Lefevre would have waved to Guin and Conor, but she was too busy staring at Luci, wide-eyed. "You...lick..inside their mouths?" She shudders all over. "Okay..that's just...grossgross..." She narrows her eyes at Luci. "You're makin' that up.And it was weird 'cause he's got rings in his lip."
Guinevere Fouroux comes to a full stop once she reaches the knot of children. She catches just the tail end of what Luci says, and her eyes widen in shock. She stares at the girl, at an utter loss for words. The fact that she was 16 did not matter. "Who--?" she manages to sputter, then stops before she can say anything more and possibly embarrass her.
Jaina Lefevre is sitting with the big girls and it is QUITE the education! She's SO proud! A glance up at the voice and she glares at Rai. "School for the smart kids to come. You can go home if'n ya want." She waves to Conor and Guin. "Hi Conor! Hi Miss Winny!"
Whysper Noyes's head snapped around to the sound of Guin's voice. Uhoh. Now they were in trouble. There was a little wave to the woman and Conor before she looked back to Luci. "See...I told you, ya can't talk about sex in church cause you always get caught."
Luci Jameson grins at Jaina. "Okay. Remember how I said all little boys got cooties? 'Specially that one." She points at Rai with her middle finger. Oops, how did that happen? "Well, kissing with tongue is gross when they're little and got cooties. But then they grow up, get smokin hot, and it's all good. Trust me."
Jaina Lefevre blinks at Luci. "You got caught doin sex in church?? Wow...Was it squeaky with the raincoats on?"
Caty Weezles: "Uhms." She stared to Conor. "Are they talking about secks in church?" She wasn't sure what she had just walked into.
Nellie Meads's eyes get really huge. "I'm *nine* and you aren't s'posed to talk like that in front of ME."
Nellie Meads looks at the girl even tinier than herself..."Or *her*, either!!"
Luci Jameson blinks at Jaina...and collapses back, DYING. "Oh God, NO! Nonono...shh, Jainey-loo, we'll talk later. And zoh-my-God, who said the REST of you..." She eyes Miss I'm Nine. "...had to listen? Nosy! This is big girl talk. GUIN!" She scrambles to her feet. "I need to talk to you. Like, now."
Jaina Lefevre waves a hand dismissively at Nellie. "So turns around." She is fascinated. "Was it a yellow raincoat?"
Conor Nitely winces slightly at his name being called, a vague look of fear crossing his eyes before fading out quickly. A smile begins to form on his lips and then falters slighty when hear hears the current topic of conversation, two feet moving quickly to shuffle a little bit in front of Caty. As if he could block out their voices with his small frame. "Not that kind," he whispers back quickly to the girl.
Guinevere Fouroux returns Whysper's wave absently, forgetting for a moment how they'd last parted. Her eyes are still riveted on Luci, and it only gets worse, not better. She blinks in confusion when instead of her shouting for Luci, Luci shouts for her, but same result. "And clearly I need to talk to -you- now, too." She inclines her head back toward the main doors, out of the way of the class, for some privacy.
Caty Weezles clutched against Gemma's hand and popped up to look over, or try to, Conor's shoulder. "There's another kind? I bringed Gemma cause my Daddy went away to look for my mommy and maybe he's coming back soon but that just means Miss Calee is stuck at the hotel and this is her little girl and she's a neko with tails and ears."
Luci Jameson rolls her eyes and looks at Whysper. "If I don't come back, Guin killed me and buried the body. Tell the MPD"

When I met with Nishi and Kris this past February, and asked them to describe "their style" they said: modern, urban, "funky bohemian" - and they wanted a cake to reflect their unique qualities.
Alas... one of my FAVORITE cakes to have made!
Chocolate fondant is piped with apple green scrolling inspired by their invitations, with an offset lower tier bouquet of orchids and roses.
The cake was a displayed in an amazingly beautiful room decorated by Calee of www.calleeslilies.net in San Jose. The table she provided for the cake to be displayed on was perfect and got a front and center spot right next to the bride/groom and bridal party tables.
Flavor: "Mexican Hot Chocolate" - Marble cake with Cayenne and Cinnamon, Milk Chocolate custard, Caramel and White Chocolate Truffle.
Clients: Nishi and Kris, married June 7, 2008 at Canyonview in San Ramon, CA

Ugarte had slowly, painfully started to gather himself and his bearings. Though the loss of blood, and the ringing in his ears seemed to distort, he knew from all the clamor there where more then just the three originals in the hotel now. As he rose to his knees he caught movement from the corner of his left eye, and what seemed to be a rather slow reaction to him was actually quick enough for him to raise his padded arm to deflect -most- of the tee off from Forge. The force still sent him sprawling backwards. He wasted no time and lunged for the door behind the reception deck, testing the handle first and if it was locked, would attempt to bull his way through.
Kiri Mayako takes her pistol out, and gestures with it, first at Calee, then at Swara and Guin. "You see them? That's Guin - she's from the church. And that's a neko punk with an attitude problem. Both of which are our business. Now be a good girl and hush." She looks at Forge. "He attack Guin?" she asks, pointing at Swara with her pistol.
Darkness Odigaunt jumps as soon as the man was off Guin, she checks her for wounds.
Forgetten Tomorrow watched at the neko bashed the door off its hinges-- he would pause only for a second to look down at Guin. He raised the gun and he would fire again-- the sound of the blast would once again fill the room and Forge stumbled back a few feet likely hitting into the nun behind him. "YOU COME INTO MY FUCKING HOTEL! YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH" he screamed out-- all he could hear was the ringing in his ears from the two blasts from the now empty rifle. Apparently he didn't hit Darkness but her decision to jump in as he was firing sent him spiraling over her landing hard against the stairs.
Emberen Twine gapes as she frantically assesses the situation...before ducking from the gunfire. She gapes and tries to get a handle on all the action without becoming a victim of it.
Calee Lykin just ignored the larger woman that was now behind her. She would deal with her later, people needed to realise who they were dealing with, with Calee. She glares at Kiri specifically, "Guns is bad!" she hisses at her. "The boss man has it under control, now ya lets him deals with it before ya gets other peoples hurted." She hadn't seen Swara attack Guin, and wasn't really sure what was going on, and figured that there was no way Kiri would have known either. She did know that more guns would mean more trouble, not less, and that her ears were ringing painfully from the shotgun blast. "Now ya should puts those 'way for ya hurts someone."
Iohannes Crispien sighs and mrrs, figuring he ought to draw at least one of his guns, his left, and smirks, covering Kiri, "Come on mister manager, leave the neko to us cats to punish. We'll make sure he gets what's coming to him." He snakes at Calee, "Nekos take care, and punish their own! If you're just gonna hop around, then I'll personally step in and pistolwhip the damn cat, it that's what he has coming."
Emberen Twine gasps unable to imagine what Swara has done for all the punishment.
Guinevere Fouroux gasps as the man's weight suddenly shifts, giving her room to draw air at last. Her breathing comes short and labored out of shock, and she blinks up at the hotel ceiling, barely noticing the swing of Forge's rifle. She nearly sobs in relief as the creature is knocked off of her, but she doesn't move, pain and disbelief washing through her. "What... " she tries to whisper. She remembers the gun is still clutched in her hand and she releases it as if burned. Forge's scream is almost welcome, something she can latch on to, and she tries to turn onto her side--the side that wasn't burning. "Forge?" she tries again. The lobby is full of people, and she spots the hem of familiar black. "Sister Lis?" She doesn't wonder at the illogic of her being here. "Wha--what happened?"
Kiri Mayako looks at Calee. "Girl - *hush*. Nobody cares about you at the moment: Let the grownups work." She looks back to Forge, then the door Swara vanished through. "May we? We'd like to... have a word with him. His conduct is rather appalling, and reflects poorly on all hybrids."

Because Earth’s axis of rotation is tilted with respect to the path of its orbit around the sun, the North and South Poles experience dramatic seasonal swings in the amount of sunlight they receive. For six months of the year, the sun never rises over one pole, and never sets over the other. For scientists braving the winter at the South Pole, the sunrise comes on the September 21-22 equinox (the exact calendar date of the equinoxes varies).
This photograph of the South Pole sunrise was captured by Calee Allen of the National Science Foundation on Sept. 21, 2008. The sun just clears the horizon and shines over the frozen landscape. The tattered edges of an American flag whip in the wind above a sign marking the location of the geographic South Pole, home to the U.S. Antarctic Program’s Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. The research station is staffed year round, making it the southernmost continually inhabited place on the planet.
For the next six months, the sun will not set at Amundsen-Scott research station, and scientists will see the sun get higher above the horizon each day until the Southern Hemisphere summer solstice in December. After the solstice, the sun will sink toward the horizon a little more each day, until it finally sets beneath the horizon on the March equinox.

Alexandr Giano tromped down the tunnel, then blinked when he rounded that corner. Ugh. That guy was here again. Did he just slum here ALL the time? Whatever. He looked at Kat. "Hey," he offered quietly to her.
Shadowkat Wrigglesworth laughs softly hearing his words and shakes her head. "Then don't be grumpy, and I won't make you clean it up." She stated in a matter of fact tone of voice. Her lavender orbs studied him a moment, before turning her attention towards Alex and Fina with a small grin. "Hey you two."
Serafina Fall didn't quite follow, but was clear she was walking -with- Alex at least. "Heya Kat." She gave her a wider grin than most.
Aegyptia Elvehjem storms up to the tape after haven just checked at the Kitchen, "where's that Dmitry kid? He's gonna be licking that tag off the walk in front of Bangkok" *pera eyes were aglaze, her hair uncombed and the expression on her face showed she was in no good mood, though she managed a slight forced smile to Fina and her friend*
Alexandr Giano looked like he was about to say something, but if Pera was there. He just gawked a little at her, before he tugged his cap down. "So... we got what you asked, jupp." He kicked at the floor.
Serafina Fall's eyes drew up sidelong to Pera, then her mouth too, quirking up that cheek if not a bit knowingly. She didn't really want to invite more of - whatever pissed her off - upon herself, so remained quiet. Bit at the ends of her sleeves to yank them down further. What he said though, made her look to Kat. She didn't know they were for -her-!
Shadowkat Wrigglesworth walks over towards Alex and Fina as she heard Pera storming up and glased her a playful grin. "You mean that one who owes me a debt?" THe tiger already talked to him as she gave her a look which mean she already had plans on how to deal with the new trouble maker. Once the tiger got close enough, she leaned over to pet Alex upon the head. "Did you? Did anyone see you two?" She grinned over towards Fina. "Neither one of you tried any of them right?" She asked this one just like a mother would ask.
Aegyptia Elvehjem brow would raise at Alex and Fina's words, standing down to listen and see what Kat had up her sleeve, grumbling only a little as she ducked under the tape to sit down with a huff, mumbling somehting unintelligable about Dmitry
Alexandr Giano shrugged. "Jupp, but they were busy." He did not look like it was really a concern. He scratched the top of his head and gave a look that said he wished she SOOO would sort of pleeeease stop doing that head pat. JEEZ. He shook his head to her second question. Why would he?
Serafina Fall gave Kat an odd look too that most clearly went 'Uhh... ewwww?' Yucko. Her finger twirled in the air then pointed straight at his bag. ".. It's in there. What're you gonna use it for?"
Calee Lykin waddles around and finds her way to the chair, thinking that would be the easiest thing to haul herself out of when she had to move, but for now comfortable to sit in.
Shadowkat Wrigglesworth nodded her head. "Figured as much..." Who would pay attention to kids running through the park, or playing around. As she noticed the look from Alex, she folded her arms infront of her chest. "I -could- always have Anna show up, and scream out that she's your godmother?" Her knuckles still bruised from the punch she gave the woman. "Well...rumor has it that their magical for adults." She stated slowly towards them. "And what type of person would I be if I didn't show off the magic of these mushrooms?"
Freya Kozlov gives a weak little wave towards Kat and Garett and Calee..the only ones she had seen before. violet eyes turning to Pera, giving her an inquisitive little look, the young no longer filthy cat stalked over to her and sat down at Pera's feet
