Just across the road from the McDonald's in the next pics, the brightly lit interior, visible through the large, plate-glass window, of the Egg Free Cake Box, caught my eye on a dark night, so I tried a quick handheld shot, from the opposite side of the road, not really expecting it to come out, but I got lucky. Haven't tried this place, must give it a go some day off.
Coffee and cake, anyone?
The two chairs are made out of wire cages from champagne bottles. The 'cushion' on the right chair is an antique French enamelled button. The white coffee mugs are handmade from porcelain and they're VERY tiny.
Ever make those cake mix cookies? I finally did as I had an Orange flavored cake mix I bought in early Spring that I never got around to using. I already had the dried cranberries, so the rest was simple enough. Not bad! The next time I think I'll try using 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce instead of oil.
Usually I don't bake cookies like this, but it's always good for me to have a box of cake mix handy.

It's Movie Night again, and Stormtrooper Bruce and the guys have settled down for another movie marathon and lots of good eatin'. STB wanted to make up for last weekend, since the plans for sneaking away from the Bake Off didn't go quite as planned.
Palpatine: Pardon my intrusion on your little... what ever this is, but I've come with the Bake Off results.
STB: No intrusion, sir. You're always welcome. But, if I may say so, what a surprise! The results - already? It usually takes weeks, but it's only been a few days!
Palpatine: Well, not to brag, but my genius idea to make all the contestants wear those Bunny Ears really cut down on the entries! Only the devoted, die-hard bakers entered this time; barely two dozen. So the judges were able to do their job, and not get sent to the MedBay from some dumb half baked cake by some Trooper who doesn't even know how to bake!
TK-1110: Wow! That was WTMIAO. Way too much information at once. Now I know where his nephew gets it!
Palpatine: I heard that, Trooper, but never mind. I'm here to announce the results, and I've brought a cake my own personal chef baked, too.
STB: Well, sir, I'm anxious to hear the results!
Palpatine: I'm proud to announce you tied with 3rd Place. Your award is to prepare all the baked goods for my next quarterly Officer's Staff Meeting, being held in two weeks.
STB: Um, wow. What an honor.
Palpatine: I know, right! And, this cake is a little something extra special my nephew insisted you deserved after he accidentally hit you in the Rotten Egg Toss at the Spring Fling. As I understand it, the armor you were wearing is still being fumigated.
STB: Yes, it was all rather unsettling. When I came to, the guys explained those eggs came from your Petting Zoo. But don't let me get started. Thank your nephew for me, and I accept his apology.
Palpatine: Well, on that note I'll be off - so you can get back to your little... still not sure what this is? Good evening, Troopers.

Time again for Stormtrooper Bruce's Dessert of the Month to arrive, and this time Boba Fett shows up to see what all the hoopla is about.
Fett: Great galaxy! What exactly IS that thing?
STB: There was a note saying it's a Chocolate Raspberry Molten Lava Cake.
TK-1110: Wowzer! It looks a-MA-zing!
TK-432: It's a chocolate lovers dream come true!
Fett: It looks disgusting!
STB: What? Aren't you the Bounty Hunter Extraordinaire? The one who taught me extreme survival skills. Who taught me to eat anything. And I mean anything.
Fett: Well, anything edible. But I never saw anything like this before. What does it do? Explode?
STB: Dude, it's a cake. It doesn't do anything.
TK-1110: You eat it - and enjoy it.
TK-432: Guess it could make you fat if you eat too much.
Fett: Molten Lava - will it burn your innards as it goes down? Are there poisonous fumes to make you pass out? Does the ...
STB: What is wrong with you? You love cakes of all kinds!
Fett: This looks like giant pile of Bantha poo.
STB. You say that about everything. Try it. You might like it.
TK-432: No he won't. He's made such a big production out of it even if he loved it he won't be able to admit it now.
TK-1110: Hey, that's right! There's no drama like Fett's Drama. And that's perfect. If he won't try it, then there's more for us.
STB: Tell me again why you’re here?
Fett: The plan was to mess with you but it seems to have backfired thanks to my big mouth! Guess I won't be eating cake tonight.

Starting April off with an Easter edition of the Dessert of the Month puts Stormtrooper Bruce and the guys in a good mood.
STB: Wowzer! What a great surprise! It looks amazing! Guess we won't need my Bunny cupcakes after all.
TK-1110: I wasn’t sure what to expect since it’s also April Fool’s Day, too!
TK-432: Well, I do feel a little foolish wearing these bunny ears, but if that cake tastes half as good as it looks I’ll put on a bunny tail, too!
STB: I am SO knocking off this cake!
TK-1110: If the rest of the desserts are this good you should copy all of them. But maybe we should try it first.
TK-432: Let’s hope the P doesn’t sneak in another of his sister’s horrible looking Dessert Disasters!
STB: Even if he does we’re good because we still have Plan B, remember?
TK-1110: How could we forget? The Trooper afraid of petit fours. He better be ready just in case there is another, um, I can’t even bring myself to talk about it.
TK-432: Hey, I know! Let’s make up our own nightmare dessert to test him. Gotta make sure he’s up to the challenge.
STB: And here I was thinking I was the bad one.

After receiving so many back to back delicious desserts for his Dessert of the Month prize, Stormtrooper Bruce had almost forgotten the true horror experienced so many months ago with the arrival of the so called Dessert Disaster.
STB: Just when we thought it was safe to open the cake box without fear of what's lurking inside.
TK-1110: Holy Smokes! This is even more disgusting than that other thing we couldn’t eat!
TK-432: Thank goodness for our Official Taste Tester here.
STB: Dude, time to step up to the plate and earn that cooler of brewskies I promised so many months ago.
TK-OTT: You should be thankful I was off duty today. But, quite frankly I'm thinking we may have to renegotiate our previous agreement to TWO coolers!
STB: Dude, I thought you lived for this kind of stuff.
TK-OTT: I do, but eating this... whatever this is... is far beyond my scope of consumption capabilities.
TK-1110: The note says this is Chunky Octopudding Jumble-Eye-A.
STB: What kind of loco alien race would possibly eat this?
TK-OTT: Like I said, I'll try it if you up the ante to two coolers.
TK-432: Dude, you try that and you'll be on an antigrav gurney to the MedBay before you say Unka Pappy.
TK-OTT: What?
STB: Don't mind him. I say let's forget the whole thing. Even if you did taste test this for us, no way are we going to eat it. This dessert is a bust. Sorry I wasted your time.
TK-OTT: I knew it was too good to be true. At this rate, I'm never going to earn that cooler of cold ones.

While in the middle of decorating his quarters for the holidays, Stormtrooper Bruce's final Dessert of the Month prize arrives for December. It's been a year of ups and downs, but it has never been dull. And now with mixed emotions he wonders what the new year will bring?
STB: I can't believe it! A gorgeous Plum Pudding. What a great way to end the year. But I don't know if I can eat it.
TK-1110: I think I know what you mean. Once we dig in and it's all gone … that's it! The End. Finito!
TK-432: Dude. It's OK. You're such an amazing baker, I bet you can knock off this pudding easy peasy!
STB: True. But still. It feels like the end of an era.
TK-1110: You know the Holliday Bake Off is just weeks away. Any idea what you're going to bake this year?
STB: I have a few ideas. But Palpatine hasn't announced the prizes yet. He usually waits until the last minute, so you never know if you really want to win or just come in second or third.
TK-432: Well, from all the previous ones, I'd say runner up has always been better than first place. What if he does a Brewsky of the Month, or a Burger of the Month this time? That'd be cool!
TK-1110: But then he might do a Galaxy of the Month, and you wind up getting more jumble eye-a surprises from strange worlds. Eww!
STB: Well I'll just have to take my chances. And having said that, let's dig in and see if they made this pud a year ago or last week?

Stormtrooper Bruce got wind Vader was planning unannounced security inspections on the officer's deck, medical bay, and other random locations - so he has prepared for the inevitable. Anything to mess with Vader. And of course the guys are always willing to play along.
Vader: Pardon my intrusion on your little… What in the Great Galaxy is going on this time?!?
STB: It's movie night tonight, like it always is on the start of every weekend.
Vader: Well, I see that, but really? You've pulled some crazy stunts before but this - this is all a wee bit … nauseating.
STB: The guys always complain about how few dates they get. So I'm teaching them how to be more sensitive and understanding.
TK-432: And - we're watching Chick Flicks so we'll have something to talk about.
TK-1110: I've learned a lot already. I've always considered myself rough and tough, hardened to withstand anything, but watching these movies is a new kind of torture. And I'm actually almost liking them.
STB: Lord Vader, would you like to join us? You just might learn something, too.
Vader: I've already learned enough. You always seem to be doing something insane whenever I show up. It's almost like you do it on purpose.
TK-432: We always have lots of fun on movie nights. We never know WHAT to expect.
Vader: Well, I know - this is worse than any asteroid field I've ever encountered. Flowers, petit fours and a teddy bear? Oh, my!
STB: You won't tell anyone about this will you, sir? If word gets out everyone will want to join us for sensitivity training.
Vader: You're joking, right? Someone needs their head examined and it's not me. On second thought, maybe it IS me because I keep coming here expecting something close to normal. Chick flicks are NOT normal.

STB: Vader’s Dogs! I can’t believe this is happening again!

TK-OTT: Wow! It's a Dessert Imposter! I just LOVE these!
STB: Dude, it's a kitty litter box, and a nasty looking one at that!
TK-1110: I thought dessert imposters were supposed to look like another kind of food. Not ... this … !
TK-OTT: Oooh, it smells heavenly! Wonder what the poo is made of?
TK-432: If you eat that I'm going to hurl. But you've got the scooper - taste one and find out.
TK-OTT: It really looks amazing. Whoever made this did a great job!
STB: Pretty sure that psycho cat Cujo of the P's nephew helped.
TK-OTT: Hey wait a minute. Are you trying to renege on your promise of a stocked cooler in return for tasting your "scary little dessert?"
STB: Um, no. I'm trying to save you a trip to the medic... You know what? You're right. You go right ahead and taste that. And if you don't drop dead then we'll all try it
TK-432: No can do, Bro. I've eaten a lot of questionable things in my day but I have to draw the line here.
TK-1110: I concur. I don't want to be known as the Trooper who died from eating kitty poo.
STB: But what if it's awesome? I might want to make one some day. Imagine Vader's reaction when he pops in and finds us eating this!
TK-1110: Well, when you put it like that. Anything to mess with Vader. Pass me a plate, with extra poo, please!

It’s the first weekend of the month, and time for another KSS lesson for Palpatine’s nephew. Stormtrooper Bruce has finally gotten the hang of these Kitchen Survival Skills lessons, now that he knows the kid actually does know his way around the kitchen. So this time, STB hopes he’s planned a nice little surprise that will go over well. Because if the nephew ain’t happy then nobody’s happy.
SJ: Wowzers, Unka Dude! This has been the bestest day ever! I can’t believe we baked all these gingerbread men! They’re almost too cute to eat!
STB: Well, Sloppy Joe, and by the way, I love the name you chose for today... very fitting, I know how much you love your Christmas in July, so it only seemed right we should bake something Christmassy for today's KSS lesson.
SJ: It’s wonderful! Momma said we couldn’t have Christmas in July this year accause tomorrow we’re going on vacation. She’s still looking for a suitable planet for us to live on. She’s not crazy about living on the Officer’s Deck, says she’s tired of having to put her best foot forward all the time. Which is silly because both her feet look the same to me!
STB: Again with the WTMIAO, way too much information at once. But I won’t tell. So how long will you be gone?
SJ: Momma said for four weeks, I sure am going to miss Christmas in July. Maybe next year we can do it in June and July!?! Oooh, I’ll have to ask her, but I better wait until she’s in a good mood.
STB: Well, I was going to send you home with a box of some of your cookies to enjoy. So, what if, I let you take them all? That way, you can share them with your mother, and you’ll have something to snack on while you’re away.
SJ: Oh wowzer, wow, wowie! I might even share some with Unka Pappy before we leave. He’ll love them! That way he’ll know how good I did in class today. But don’t worry, I won’t tell him about the batch I burned in the oven, or the bowl I dropped and broke, or about the dough I accidentally slung on the ceiling. Those can be our secrets. I’m good at keeping secrets now that I’m getting bigger!
STB: Again with the WTMIAO, but no worries, I can keep secrets, too! OK, Sloppy, I think you’ve worked hard enough today. It’s way past time for lunch. Let’s sit down, eat, rest our weary bones and watch some toons. Then I’ll finish boxing up your cookies before you leave. And, as a parting gift, I’ll even let you take this Christmas tree, so you’ll have something Christmassy on your shuttle to enjoy while you’re away.

Having previously deemed that watching movies on Stormtrooper Bruce’s tiny laptop screen unbearable, the guys have come to realize they truly miss their weekly get-togethers and camaraderie. And maybe. just maybe, movies on a tiny screen are better than nothing.
TK-1110: Dude, we were wrong to abandon you on movie night, leaving you all alone. It's not your fault Fett is jamming your cable signal with whatever THAT is, and took your furniture.
TK-432: Well, technically it is his fault. But you two have been doing this "pay back prank" thing for so long pointing fingers is kinda moot. Anyway, we’ve got your six.
STB: Well, I appreciate the apology, if that's what this is - but I can't help notice your change of heart coincides with the arrival of this month's Dessert of the Month dessert. And please don't ask me to repeat that.
TK-1110: Well, we HAVE been here for every dessert so far this year. It wouldn't seem right to leave you all by yourself on such a special day like today.
TK-432: Dude, everyone knows sharing special events makes them even more fun.
STB: Well, I can't argue with that. So we're good, right?
TK-1110: We’re good, except for one thing. How exactly are we supposed to eat this?
TK-432: We're Troopers, right? We don't need no stinking plates, we can improvise!
STB: Um, maybe we can go find a secluded corner in an empty hangar to improvise?
TK-1110: And then come back here for Tiny Movie Night? Works for me.
TK-432: Me, too. And for once we won't have to clean up afterward!

With his Dessert of the Month prize nearing an end, Stormtrooper Bruce and the guys gather to see what this month holds? Aside from a few "non-traditional" desserts this prize has been one of the best things to come out of the Holliday Bake Off in ages.
STB: Wow! It's not as fancy shmancy as some of the others but my mouth is watering just looking at that Fresh Baked Cherry Pie!
TK-1110: Guys, if you think it looks good you should turn off the air filter on your helmets! It smells as amazing as it looks.
TK-432: If that were a swimming pool I'd jump in the deep end and eat my way out.
STB: That doesn't make any sense and yet I'm in total agreement with what you said.
TK-1110: Dude, have you given any thought about what you're going to bake for the P's holiday contest next month?
STB: Actually, yes. I wonder if I knock off one of the desserts that came this year if that would be cheating?
TK-1110: Not if it's your own recipe, right? But you never know if he's going to throw a curve ball into the theme.
STB: Worst thing is first prize always sucks, so you want to win, but then again you don't.
TK-432: I say let's not worry about tomorrow when there's good eating today. Let's dive in and get messy!

Cake is brown model magic, set in a silicone mini mold. Painted to look like a pink cake, with spackle colored pink for frosting.

Five seconds long exposure macro, shot spontaneously on my desk in rather poor lighting conditions. As a substitute for a small tripod, I've used a DVD "cakebox" and a paper cutter to give it the downwards angle.

People say that the name FED comes from the initials of Felix Edmundovitch Djerzinski, founder of the Soviet secret police.

The client sent me a photo of a Pink CakeBox design and wanted the exact same thing only she changed the colors a bit. She was VERY specific! I like that :) I hope I did the original justice :P
