Back on Christmas eve I put my freshly poured cup of coffee on the kitchen table and walked away.
Because of the time of day, the bright sunlight beamed through our patio door and onto the kitchen table. When I came back to get my coffee I noticed such a cool sight. The steam vapours swirling and rising up into the air was brightly illuminated by the sunlight.
The way the rising vapours swirled and undulated as it rose was like watching a belly dancer. I had to get my camera!
I took a few shots of this Java Steam Dance. Then I took them into photoshop where I blended two of the cup photos together so as to catch two of the steam dance merge into one.
After some composition cropping and playing with countless textures, this is what I ended up with. Surprisingly this final photo manipulation is only 1 image of two merged cup photos and to of my own blending textures.
When I finished it looked like a steaming cauldron so I named this work the "Caffeine Cauldron"

I don't even think that's a word, but here's a simple photo for today :)
I was planning to do an outdoor strobist shot today, only to realize I left my SD card at home :(
I'm not big on coffee, but I sure do like the way it smells :) Its aroma is rather comforting-- even soothing. Alright, that's it for now :)

I noticed morning light slanting across the kitchen counter and realized that it was highlighting my shrine to caffeine.
Here's our French press, the bean grinder and behind is the K-cup brewer for when we're in a hurry.
Can't get the ball rolling without our caffeine!
I generally have 900 ml of coffee each morning via French press.
At night I set up the K-cup brewer for Kim so all she has to do is press 'play' as she gets ready to leave for the hospital.
When I haul my lazy heinie out of the sack, I eventually wander into the kitchen and start heating water and grinding beans.

Being retired is marvelous...

one thing you should know about steffi is, she's a caffeine addict. clearly i should have told odd about this before they met, so he wouldn't have stood between her and her coffee...
Total addiction ... if no caffeine in my system by midday my brain is mush and the head starts to ache.
