Comic con 2014 series. A little late but sharing with you all, my experience. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed photographing it.
With all the rain of the past few weeks, shrooms have been popping up all over. Unfortunately, most of them have been of the old drab brown type that you'd just as soon not see. Occasionally, though, I get a few of these red ones, and go running for the camera...^+^

Caesars Palace is one of Las Vegas's largest and best-known landmarks. It was opened in 1966 by Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin, who sought to give guests a sense of life during the Roman Empire. It contains many statues, columns and iconography typical of Hollywood Roman period productions, including a 20-foot statue of Augustus Caesar near the entrance. The hotel features more than 3,500 rooms, 22 restaurants and 10 bars/lounges.
From the outset, Caesars Palace has been oriented towards attracting high rollers. The casino facilities include table games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, Spanish 21, mini-baccarat, Pai Gow and Pai Gow poker. The casino also features a 4,500 square-foot, 24-hour poker room and 1,342 slot machines. The hotel has operated as a host venue for live music and sports entertainment. In addition to holding boxing matches since the late 1970s, Caesars also hosted the Caesars Palace Grand Prix from 1981 to 1982. The main performance venue is The Colosseum, a theater that seats 4,296 people and contains a 22,450 square-foot stage.
Something a bit different. My wife and I just returned from a four day respite (can Vegas be restful?) in Las Vegas. Not a whole lot of "nature" opportunities to shoot there, but a lot of photo ops nonetheless. The past year has been rather busy for us with two weddings in six months (youngest son and daughter) so we decided to have some fun and head west. Since neither of us gamble we spent our time sight seeing (Hoover Dam, etc.), shopping and fooding. People watching here is incredible too!
I spent my entire working career in the construction industry, so I have always had a fascination for the hotels and casinos along the Strip. Our last trip to Vegas was in the '90's so much has changed. This shot is looking back at one of the hotel towers at Caesar's Palace from in front of the fountain pools at the Bellagio. I don't have a tilt-shift lens, but the perspective control in Lightroom is pretty amazing!

This was Caesar not long after he was brought home. Man he was trouble, one time while we were out I came home to find him in the kitchen cupboard where the kitty treats resided, he was sitting on the plates, and Miss Kitty was on the floor eating all that had fallen out of the bag.
Full of personality.

The trail from the Visitor's Center goes 2.7 miles along the lake shore to the Day Lodge We walked back along the road and shortened this considerably. A bit windy but no snow...darn.
Pre-adopt. Caesar was rescued from animal control after his owners decided to dump him after keeping a puppy from a litter that he fathered. If you are interested in giving him a second chance at life please fill out a application at wwpetrescue.org. He gets along with everyone.

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Caesars features 3,348 rooms in five towers and is considered the Vegas flagship property of its owner, Harrah's Entertainment.
History: The hotel dates back to 1962, when Jay Sarno, a cabana motel owner, used US$10 million that had been lent to him by the Teamsters Central States Pension Fund to begin plans for a hotel on land owned by Kirk Kerkorian. Sarno would later act as designer and building of the 14-story hotel began in 1962. That first tower featured 680 rooms
Sarno struggled to decide on a name for the hotel. He finally decided to call it Caesars Palace because he thought that the name Caesar would evoke thoughts of royalty because of Roman general Julius Caesar. Sarno felt that guests should feel they were at a king's home while at his hotel. It is called "Caesars" and not "Caesar's" because every guest is a Caesar.
