The original photo was of a tacky statue that graced a hall on the cruise ship we traveled on to explore parts of Alaska. Personally, I feel that my Photoleap editing greatly improved its appearance.

A fort has stood on this spot since at least 1680 to protect the southern half of Rocquaine Bay.
At that time it was armed with two 'sakers' (31⁄2 inch calibre cannons). During the 18th century the gun platform was extended and musket steps were added.
During the early years of the 19th century, with the threat of French invasion at its height, the present magazine was added and the parapet strengthened.
A signal mast was sited on the bastion at the south-western corner of the fort. The fort was armed with three 18-pounder guns.
By 1842 Fort Pezeries had fallen into disrepair. During the Second World War the German occupying forces built an earthwork machine gun position on the shortened western wall.
Maybe yes, mabe not. We found this bust in an old classroom. It was completely ravaged. The young students had opened holes in his eyes, had broken the nose and one hear. They even did drawings and lettering with graffiti ink impossible to erase. I thought I could use it as a mannequin, while I do not have one that suits my purposes. Cristina is restoring it and giving it a new life. We are willing to share the Atelier with this fellow, as he seems to be quiet and nice. We decided to give him the name of Caesar.
There are fountains and statues galore at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

This is Warwick Castle, a historic medieval castle located in Warwick, (would you believe) the county town of Warwickshire, England. The prominent stone structure here is one of its famous towers, such as Caesar's Tower, which was part of the castle's refortification during the 14th century.
Developed from a wooden fort originally built by William the Conqueror in 1068, the castle was later rebuilt in stone during the 12th century. Today, it is a major tourist attraction known for its dramatic fortifications and night-time events, including the "Weird Walk of Warwick," an evening walking tour that features ghostly tales and lit-up views of the castle. It is often cited as one of England's "scariest" or most haunted attractions due to its long history and dungeon experiences.
Caesar's Tower, is the tallest and most formidable tower at Warwick Castle. Built between 1330 and 1360 during the Hundred Years' War, it is a masterwork of 14th-century military architecture. It stands approximately 44.8 meters high. While Guy's Tower appears taller from the courtyard, Caesar's Tower starts from a much lower level on the sandstone cliff near the River Avon. It is one of only two quatrefoil (cloverleaf-shaped) towers in England. It features a rare double parapet and a sloping base (glacis) designed to deflect missiles dropped from above toward attackers. Originally built for residential use, its upper storeys housed noble prisoners waiting for ransom. Its most famous "guest" was King Edward IV, who was briefly imprisoned here in 1469 during the Wars of the Roses. The tower's basement contains a grim, stone-vaulted dungeon, sometimes known as the Poitiers Tower.

We overshot Stone Arthur by quite a distance, so like naughty children needed to head back down the pictures.
Person or persons unknow had collected copper containing rocks - didn't want you thinking that Caesar had hewn them himself!
Copper ore has been mined and wrought in the area since ancient times. Discoveries prove the existence of first settlements 6300 years ago and findings document the beginning of copper mining from the local deposits approx. 3500 years ago. Scattered findings around the Kaiserbründl and Gratlspitze also indicate prehistoric ore mining in this area. The name Thierberg (former name for Gratlspitze) is specifically mentioned towards the end of the middle ages in a list of goods from 1416 as a copper ore source. The mines on Gratlspitze are several kilometers long. Numerous tunnels and shafts were dug in order to find the ore. Towards the end of the middle ages, the silver found in the ore was of greater importance than that of prehistoric times as it was used in the minting of coins.
Mining ceased here in the mid-19th century.
On a recent business trip to Las Vegas I was roaming around at the Forum Shops at Caesars, an upscale mall in the Caesar Palace casino. The mall is modeled after the old Rome at the time of Caesar. For me it was more interesting hunting around with my camera than shopping.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from two RAW exposures, merged them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, then corrected the perspective to some degrees. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

My son in law is very proud of his roses. When they moved into the house the roses were in very bad shape. He took his time and nurtured them back to life. It shows the love he has for nature and my daughter.
Our last Wainwright of the day. After this there were 10 to go to complete the round we started in 2015.

This flood control lake has many bays and islands. Summer pool covers 2607 acres. With the recent heavy rains, the lake's level has risen and dropped several feet.
The is part of Caesars Palace, the largest and best known casino operations in Las Vegas. It opened in 1966 and has over 4,000 rooms and suites. While still opulent, the famous statues and buildings ae showing signs of age. Rooms at Caesars Palace average $615 per night.
