Punta Cabalo es un lugar estratégico dentro de la Isla de Arousa por varias razones: Es el lugar más occidental de la Isla, lo que significa que se encuentra localizado en el centro geográfico de la Ría de Arousa. Por ello, es un mirador ideal desde el que se puede divisar en 360 grados casi toda la ría.
Pero Punta Cabalo no es sólo un mirador excepcional para ver los pueblos de una de las rías más hermosas de Galicia, también se puede visitar un faro abierto al público y hoy en día rehabilitado como restaurante y bañarse en una pequeña cala que recibe el nombre de la punta y es muy poco frecuentada. Además, las puestas de sol son espectaculares.
El faro fue construído en el año 1852 bajo la dirección del Ingeniero Celedonio de Uribe. En sus inicios fue atendido por dos “torreiros” llevando las sucesivas reformas, hasta la supresión a principios del siglo pasado.
Se yergue entre las rocas en un paisaje de incomparable belleza, luz en la noche de los pescadores, que señala el comienzo de la noche y el camino de vuelta a casa.
This open-air museum spans the Torre peninsula, Punta Herminia, O Acoroado and Cabal de Pradeira, over 47 ha, that is, occupying part of the limits of the area around the Tower (core zone). The sculptures are distributed in the green space that surrounds the Tower, in a very suggestive game of perspectives and in permanent dialogue with the monument itself. The theme chosen by the artists can be arranged around several thematic tracks:
The mythological stories that link the foundation of the Tower with Hercules himself or with the Celtic leader Breogán, whom 19th century historiography relates to the origin of the monument itself.
References to the world of the sea, navigation and routes, which tell us about that seafaring vocation that appears intrinsically linked to the past of the Galician people since the beginning of its history.
In this sculptural space, a series of pre-existing elements have been integrated, which are explained within their historical context by means of informative panels that spread the value they have within this place. Among them we can highlight: Monte dos Bicos, the Moro Cemetery and the beacons that help navigation. (Source: www.torredeherculesacoruna.com)
Este museo al aire libre se extiende por la península de la Torre, Punta Herminia, O Acoroado y el Cabal de Pradeira, a lo largo de 47 ha, es decir, ocupando parte de los límites de la zona del entorno de la Torre (core zone). Las esculturas se distribuyen en el espacio verde que rodea la Torre, en un juego de perspectivas muy sugerente y en diálogo permanente con el propio monumento. La temática elegida por los artistas puede ordenarse en torno a varias vías temáticas:
Los relatos mitológicos que vinculan la fundación de la Torre con el propio Hércules o con el caudillo celta Breogán, al que la historiografía del siglo XIX relaciona con el origen del propio monumento.
Las referencias al mundo del mar, a la navegación y a las rutas, que nos hablan de esa vocación marinera que aparece intrínsecamente unida al pasado del pueblo gallego desde los inicios de su historia.
En este espacio escultórico se han integrado una serie de elementos preexistentes que se explican dentro de su contexto histórico por medio de paneles informativos que difunden el valor que tienen dentro de este paraje. Horta de Sant Joan és probablment la vila més bonica de la Terra Alta, amb un preciós nucli medieval i unes impressionants vistes sobre els Ports de Tortosa i la muntanya de Santa Bàrbara. També s'anomena Orta.

Walking through the old medieval streets of Horta de Sant Joan, in southern Catalonia. This is the so called "Casa de la Comanda", the HQ of the Knights Hospitaller administered their territory (comanda) arround Horta.
Horta de Sant Joan, in southern Catalonia, is a very beautiful medieval fortified town, with cramped, vaulted streets and squares, a gothic church and impressive views towards the mountains of Ports de Tortosa.
Picasso stayed here for some time and developed his art portraying the place.Now there's a Picasso Center there.

El llindar del mínim ecològic establert pel Pla Hidrològic de l’Ebre en el tram final del riu és de 80 m3 per als mesos d’estiu.
Actualment, l’embassament de Mequinensa, és el que regula el tram final de l’Ebre i depèn de les seves reserves que es deixi anar més o menys aigua. Si no es superen els 644 Hm3 embassats, el tram del «Baix Ebre» es troba en nivell d’emergència i s'han d’adaptar els usos a aquesta situació.
Segons dades de la Confederació Hidrogràfica de l’Ebre (CHE) d’aquest tram final de l’Ebre s’abasteixen directament 135.000 habitants (als que se sumarien 600.000 més a través del minitransvasament del Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona) i es reguen vora 55.000 hectàrees de camps de conreu.
Per sota dels 100 m3 per segon (el mínim la major part de l’any, a excepció de l’estiu) el riu ja presenta una situació força crítica. Des de la Plataforma en Defensa de l’Ebre (PDE), s’incideix en què els cabals mínims fixats actualment són del tot insuficients per mantenir el bon estat ecològic del tram final del riu i del Delta, i es reclama modificar-los per incrementar la dotació.

La campanya de mesuratges diaris que ha emprès "Aigua és Vida" a Girona per demostrar que les seves denúncies sobre la il·legalitat del poc cabal del Ter, negades sovint per les autoritats, són reals.
El Ter és un riu de Catalunya que neix a Ulldeter a uns 2.400 metres d'altitud, al peu d'un antic circ glacial delimitat per cims relativament propers als 3.000 metres, com el Bastiments, el Gra de Fajol o el Pic de la Dona.
Transcorre per les comarques del Ripollès, Osona, la Selva, el Gironès i el Baix Empordà, fins a desembocar a la mar Mediterrània a l'Estartit.
Fa un recorregut de 208 quilòmetres.

The daily measurement campaign undertaken by "Aigua és Vida" in Girona to show that their allegations about the illegality of the low flow of the Ter, often denied by the authorities, are real.
The Ter is a river in Catalonia that rises in Ulldeter at an altitude of about 2,400 meters, at the foot of an ancient glacial circus delimited by peaks relatively close to 3,000 meters, such as the Bastiments, the Gra de Fajol or the Pic de la Dona .
It runs through the counties of Ripollès, Osona, La Selva, Gironès and Baix Empordà, until it empties into the Mediterranean Sea in L'Estartit.
It covers a distance of 208 kilometers.
