today, I visited for the last time one of my favourite place in barcelona, the design store "vinçon" on passeig de gracia. it celebrated its 74th anniversary and will close definitely next tuesday.
since I arrived in barcelona, vinçon was the place I visited for inspiration, enjoying the last trends and great art show in the sala vinçon.
it breaks my heart to see the 2 exhibition floors empty this morning, and to talk to one of the employee that will be unemployed in a few days.
I did a last ride on the first floor, the magnificent modernist flat that was the home of the famous spanish artist ramón casas. I can’t resist to sketch the huge chimney thinking of the time ramón casas was still living there… this is the kind of place I used to visit each time I was passing in front, where I felt like home and that I never sketched until today, getting the feeling that it will be here forever.
bye bye vinçon, and thanks for this past years, it was awesome!

The last view of our beloved Hyundai i20 as it was being prepared to be towed away before being declared an insurance write-off.
Four weeks ago today we were on our way to St Albans for our wedding anniversary when we suffered a rear end shunt. We managed to limp home (against the advice of the police!) and were hoping the damage could be repaired. Sadly this proved not to be possible.
Since then we've received an insurance payout and have bought a new(er) car - our fourth red one and our third Volkswagen - taking delivery this afternoon.
I'll add a photo of the new one asap.
Meanwhile we're still missing our little red 'baby'... 🚗🚘
BTW the yellow tape is where I taped the rear brake light to keep it from falling off on our way home.

Saying Goodbye to Van's default FL faceup!
I've been meaning to wipe him for over a year, but the weather was so bad I never had the chance. We've had a couple of super nice days though so I'm going to bite the bullet and go for it.
I need to get the love back for this guy, he's never going anywhere so I might as well put my personal touch to him like Fin and Eden have.
(Eden's getting wiped too btw but that's not a big deal around here xD)
Finnian has a makeshift bandage on because the magnet came out of his hand last October and it keeps falling off. It doesn't actually do much for holding it on it's more to remind me that I need to glue it. Obviously it hasn't worked in that respect either >x>;;; I'll get round to it one day!
WHAT WILL VAN LOOK LIKE. A horrid monstrosity, probably. One last group hug with a Van with a profesh faceup that's not poop.
