Séville. Espagne 2019.
Metropol Parasol est une structure de bois de 150 m sur 75 m, d'une hauteur de 28 m1, soutenue par six piliers, située à Séville (Andalousie, Espagne). Située au sud du quartier d'Encarnación-Regina, dans le district Casco Antiguo, elle recouvre la place de la Encarnación et passe au-dessus de la rue Imagen. Le projet, présenté par l'architecte berlinois Jürgen Mayer, gagna le concours lancé par la municipalité pour la réhabilitation de la place. Sa forme lui vaut populairement le surnom de Setas de la Encarnación (Champignons de la place de la Encarnación).

Si le vélo s’appelle la petite reine… C’est à cause d’une reine des Pays-Bas, grande amatrice de vélo ! En 1890, Wilhelmine, âgée de 10 ans à peine, succède à Guillaume III. La souveraine prend l’habitude de circuler à vélo dans son royaume. La presse française salue cette « petite reine à bicyclette », notamment lors de sa visite en 1898.

The tide rolling out at Gailes Beach near Troon, Scotland, on a very windy day.
A high tide in stormy winds had brought seafoam and flotsam right up to the foot of the nearby dunes. The wind was bitingly cold and tears streamed as it whistled around my glasses but the sound of the ocean was welcoming and familiar. Troon harbour is just about visible above the waves.

Just a random handheld shot while waiting for the train home in October 2019. Ignore the settings, it was a throwaway random shot while I was exhausted but, looking back, I really like the 'busy yet empty' feeling of the space. Enjoy!
