This represents a completely different style of black and white for me. It is the beauty of DxO Filmpack 5 that I can explore so many different conversion styles. This is an infrared film style but I altered many settings along the way including the spotlight vignette mostly to bring the sky under some control.
Converted in MacPhun's Luminar with one of my own presets. Here you can see some folks entering the Bull in the Alley restaurant. The restaurant specializes in red meat such as a $98 porterhouse that is served in a typical, outrageous, Oklahoma portion size. One can stay within a narrower budget by eating an appetizer and enjoying a beverage at the very nice bar.
This black-and-white photo captures a classroom setting where knowledge is shared and shadows of the day intertwine with the learning environment. The equations and Arabic writing on the whiteboard reflect the day's lesson, and the lighting casts a poetic aura, symbolizing the blend of enlightenment and tradition. The image highlights the timeless pursuit of education and its interaction with the natural flow of time and space.
Taken on Monday just after Roche Rock- in the same IR, high contrast BW style. I have always wanted to shoot these in IR as they look so alien and IR can only add to this. I got there an there was a rainbow over the whole of the Eden site but it had gone by the time I got to this spot. Still this was the shot I was after- maybe less solid cloud would have been better but I like the way iy came out.
This the Eden project for those of you not familiar with the biomes. The far biome houses a rainforest (with ridiculously huge plants- this shot does not convey how vast they are) and the near biome is home to temperate and mediterranean plants (and a load of robins which are ridiculously tame and I guess don't bother to migrate!).
Horrible weather today- hoping it will be better tomo as I finish at 4 (and if I'm really lucky big black stormy clouds but dry)
