This is our alien cat. She has grown up a lot since the last time I was able to get a portrait shot of her. She still has those two main expressions of uncertainty and surprise (although she is adding to her box of cat expressions). She still cloaks and uncloaks when you are certain no cats are in the room. She still blends into things or changes colors depending on her surroundings. She also likes attention and enjoys scratches and cuddles, adores playing and wrestling with the other cats, and now about her name...
When we first got her, she was very very tiny. Very early 3 week old kitten that even the vet didn't think would make it. I did everything I could to keep her healthy and alive, then just picked her up and told her that the rest was up to her. The next day, she was perkier, looked healthier, and was even more active. Apparently she had made her choice. I named her Pixie because she was so tiny, her features very angular and sharp, and her eyes were huge! Plus that whole color changing thing was a bit unusual. She didn't like it when we would mention that she resembled a gargoyle or an alien, but her unusual features really did make her look odd.
Not too long ago she came into her first heat and her chirping sounded like dragonfly wings buzzing. My hubby started calling her Buzzbuzz and she absolutely loved it! Became his BFF and now prefers to be called that and will respond to it. So, Buzz it is.
She is over a year old now and very tiny. Light as a feather, long, lanky and tall.
My first attempt at a Buzz and Woody. Trying to get Woody's hat to look right was the hardest part :oS. Need to make Buzz's chest broader next time too.
I liked this photo a lot, we played buzz (playstation game) at my cousins place, I used another version of this for my pic of the day, but liked this one too!
I have a Buzz Lightyear toy on my desk at home and I decided to experiment some more with macro shots.
