This was for a TD with Amanda (Bassetts farm). Amanda done a fantastic job with a "It's a small world" cake and won the TD, congratulations!!It was also for a friends little boys third birthday, he is Buzz mad!
Disney's Toy Story Space Ranger, Buzz Lightyear is one of the giant balloon in this year Macy's Thanksgiving parade here in Manhattan, New York City.
Anchored down with sandbags and nets in preparation for the parade in the morning of Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day.
Disney's space ranger Buzz Lightyear returned from space on Sept. 11, aboard space shuttle Discovery's STS-128 mission after 15 months aboard the International Space Station. His time on the orbiting laboratory will celebrated in a ticker-tape parade together with his space station crewmates and former Apollo 11 moonwalker Buzz Aldrin on Oct. 2, at Walt Disney World in Florida. While on the space station, Buzz supported NASA's education outreach program-- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)--by creating a series of fun educational online outreach programs. Following his return, Disney is partnering with NASA to create a new online educational game and an online mission patch competition for school kids across America. NASA will fly the winning patch in space. In addition, NASA plans to announce on Oct. 2, 2009, the details of a new exciting educational competition that will give students the opportunity to design an experiment for the astronauts on the space station. Merry Christmas from ours to yours! Jack Jack and I are having quite the night playing Just Dance 3 and hanging out! I got him a Buzz Lightyear shirt for Christmas and he just had to put it on. He is positively my best bud. :)

Incorporating pop art references, synthetic materials, and an exuberant use of color, Gary Webb’s enigmatic sculptures often explore the formal interplay between abstraction and figuration. Buzzing it Down is a large-scale cast aluminum sculpture painted in brilliant and reflective chrome hues. Like round, stacked Lego blocks, each form playfully whips liquid color around the minimalist totem.

Buzz is one of my favorites, tea stained muslin body & wool scarf. His arms are hand stitched branches and his face is white porcelain that has been painted with acrylic paint

So the lighting doesn't make it easy, but you can sort of see how Gatsby got his first ever buzz cut the other day. The best part is the way the fur just along the middle of his back is slightly darker giving him the AWESOME look of a mohawk. He pretty much rocks.
I had a go at buttercream as I was doing a cake for a friends sons birthday, I think I will stick to fondant and leave the buttercream to the soft icing experts, or not try and make it look smooth. The kids didnt care, typical kids. Inspitation for buzz design via cake chester
