My second attempt at shooting 5x7 J.Lane Dry plates in my Deardorff.
This plate shows the plate before cleaning the back, non-emulsion side after processing.
I shot this on my bench with a nearby subject... my Buzz Lightyear action figure (about 10 inches tall).
After careful metering with a blue filter, I decided to try a 60-second exposure. I used the recommended 1:32 dilution of L110 (Legacypro developer) rather than full strength like I had to use last time to tease out an image from the 10 second shot.
I got some really nice tones, low grain, and a workable image!

Well...not really. 1-2, and the rest of the formation pass in front of the tower at Buckley AFB. This particular aircraft has just recently come out of modifications upgrading it to A+ standards, ensuring this airframe stays in the inventory for a long time to come.
The only time I ever did the drag thing was for Halloween in San Francisco in 1991. I was convinced that the army boots i bought to complete my ensemble had belonged to some faceless man who had fallen to Aids. The prom dress i knew had belonged to the lesbian mother of a friend of mine--she had it seemed ended up never going to the prom. The leather jacket was absconded from my friend Lisa. It was her father's, a man who had once come to my house when i was in high school and threatend my life.
This is my grandson, Buzz Lightyear. Hunter really gets into character! He was yelling, quite loudly at his pa, " NOT TODAY ZURG!" And then it was like he snapped out of his trance and had to hug Pa! It was funny!
Pistoeka sabotage droids, better known simply as buzz droids, were a type of insect-like automatons that were deployed in swarms during battlefleet actions by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. They could wreak havoc upon squadrons of starfighters that happened to fly through a formation of such deployed droids.
Fleet Buzz solo 47738 has just arrived at Farnborough, and not hanging about, leaving very soon with the 42 into town.
An Apache Cicada on my Lysiloma tree. Unlike their 17-Year cousins in the eastern US, the Apache Cicada emerges in overlapping three year cycles, so their emergence is an annual occurrence around here. The triangular-shaped white plates behind the rear legs are the noisemakers, called tymbals, found only on the males. The loud, droning buzz is the male cicadas way to attract female cicadas for mating purposes; they just sing a nice song for the ladies and get laid... how cool is that?!

The title frame for this album is on I took in 1996 of Buzz Aldrin book signing in Monterey Ca. I have now reprocessed this using Negative Lab Pro software rather than my Lightroom preset that I constructed myself and which gave rather odd colours.
Because we can. A run out in preserved former Stagecoach Dennis Dart SLF / Plaxton Pointer 2 B37F 33306 AE51VFV in August 2024.
Luckily I was following this Texan on FlightRadar24 earlier in the day, noting it had landed at RAF Benson. I then tracked her from Benson as it returned to Valley and was amazed to be buzzed !
Cookies for my littlest's third birthday. We actually had two of these platters, one on each side of the cupcake tower.

Lol, hovering co-operatively and quite territorial, driving off bees in its airspace and attempting to buzz me off too. HBBBT.
Buzz Lightyear, the young alpaca, stands in some exposed tree roots. I thought his legs and the roots would look good together.
Now i'm finishing the "catching up" process :)
This was taken with the 50mm f1.8 OM lens holding it backwards in front of the camera...
5 years on, Fleet Buzz has been brought back to life. AE51 VFV. The first, and only former Fleet Buzz vehicle to enter preservation with Southdown Preservation Group. The project has been months in the making and is a very proud moment for us! The Dart has been in hiding since it's sale in Late 2014.

Even better at original size (if you can).
Echinacea is known for its medicinal uses... I'm not sure this bee cares, but it sure cheered me up. I believe I get bonus points for getting on the ground for this one. :-)
A bee is never as busy as it seems, it's just that it can't buzz any slower. - Kin Hubbard
This appeared on explore 29th August 2012, I didn't even notice :)
