I was inspired by the Disney movie "Up" to make this button art as my entry for the Smile on Saturday group theme: Funny art. :)

I refined my stems from the first one.

And I made this specifically for a resident

where I work. She’s a master gardener.

a magazine asked me to do an art piece about my mom ( As the whole theme of the magazine was bout mom.s) and because i love my mom and i love buttons i decided that her face would look awesome in buttons.

I found some really cool coconut buttons and added a little polymer clay design in the center of each. I actually turned the green one into a brooch/pin. They are really big at about 2.5" across. So....what do you think, yay or nay?

One of two collages I made today. (The other is still drying.) They are test runs for a bigger project… my niece’s June bridal shower for her November wedding in Toulouse. And YES! I already have my tickets! ♥️💙

Please ignore the pencil marks; I didn’t trust myself to create a heart without some guidance. And looking at this like this, I see where I could add more buttons.

I am making my gift for the bride and groom shower.

I made a schedule as I respond well to this, as anti-artistic as that may sound. Blame it on my first creative endeavour, starting at nine years of age, as a classically trained musician.

And as I still am working FT, the weekends are my only time.

I am too tired to create after work. And it’s always fun to put another checkmark.

I found the buttons in my own collection plus on Etsy and eBay. I made a heart template as my freehand hearts are a bit more abstract than I wanted for this project.

I will post the completed piece in a couple of weeks.

A animation art project of mine.Its Jackie Kennedy Made of sewing buttons . In case you are wondering what she says. (I used Jackie Kennedy's Tour of the White House from the 1960's to manipulate her to say the following...)

"This is the final design. Two emperors and the grand lama will attack president Van Buren by jujitsu and burning the White House and completely eliminate the economy on the night of August 24th. For the death of Washington."

Hand-stitched each button on to keep my hands busy one night. That's right, no glue-gunning! Glue guns are for cheaters.

My 'heads' grew wings.

There were 30 in all some with and some without wings, a project I started in Nov. 2010.

We were given the task of doing anything we wanted for our front bar counter in reception at work. Yes we chose to stick down thousands of buttons onto this 900cm by 2700cm board to spell out the word hello It was fun.

This is a painting/collage mixed media piece I did about my grandparents' house. The big tree in her backyard is full of buttons because my grandmother collected old buttons and I used to love going through them.
